Sutton Dental & Braces

I’ve been going to Sutton Dental since I moved to New Haven, CT 5 years ago and have always gotten great service, everytime!

My husband had an appointment with our daughter. He was received by the two receptionists up front with horrible attitude. The appointment was for 2pm and he sat in the waiting room til about 2:40 before he got up and asked and the receptionist who tended to him never sent him the text, before her shift ended, and she left. So he they sat there for over 40 mins (because he was early for this appointment to begin with) for nothing. Then when they were finally taken back the dental technician who was taking care of my daughter also had a horrible attitude. This is the second time we’ve had an appointment at this place. First time I was there and it was not like this, but this was years ago. If you can’t work with the public this isn’t a job or career for you. Safe to say we won’t be going back. Also if I could give it a zero I would, but the lowest option was a 1.

All receptionists at the New haven office need to fired. They NEVER answer the phone they will quickly place you on hold before you can get a word out TERRIBLE service do not waste your time with this office.

I had the worst experience ever at Sutton two days ago. First, my appointment was scheduled for 8:00am, but I wasn't attended to until nearly an hour later, and no apology or explanation was offered. Second, every patient appeared to use the same dental chair without a disposable cover or the chair being cleaned between patients, which I found very unhygienic. Third, the dentist spent less than three minutes examining me, gave what I felt was a dismissive explanation for my bleeding gums, and left. The hygienist spent only about 15 minutes cleaning my teeth, repeatedly nicked my gums, and flossed my teeth so aggressively. My teeth were not cleaned thoroughly at all. The entire appointment felt rushed. I was simply asked to sign a document and leave, and it was obvious that their priority was moving on to the next patient rather than providing quality care. In fact, I'm already looking for another dental clinic to have my teeth cleaned again, just two days after my visit to Sutton. I've received dental care in Mexico, Nigeria, and at two other clinics in the United States, and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. If I could give Sutton zero stars, I would.

This place is not your normal dentist office. They agreed to see me on short notice, for a broken toof, which was awesome. Crystal was really nice at the front desk, and Clover was friggin outstanding at letting me know the options I had with my insurance. I only saw the dentist for a few minutes, but he was really great too. One of my front teef broke, and I don’t wanna walk around with a plastic toof from Amazon forever, so I’m in the works of getting a made to order “flipper,” right now, and Clover has given me options for an implant in the future. This place has renewed my vision of taking care of my teef. Thank you guys so much! I look forward to my next visit now.
