Had a great consultation with Dr. Matthew Hunsaker at Aspen Orthodontics in Chandler. This was my first time meeting him after previously seeing Dr. Stephen Hunsaker, and I was impressed Dr. Hunsaker and his consultation assistant were both extremely attentive and took the time to listen carefully to all of my questions. I had a unique request regarding a new retainer, and they went above and beyond to accommodate my needs and provide special assistance. It was clear that they genuinely care about their patients and are committed to delivering personalized care. The experience felt professional, friendly, and thorough. From the front office staff to the assistants and orthodontists, everyone is friendly, professional, and genuinely cares about their patients. The assistants are patient, gentle, and take the time to make every visit comfortable. The orthodontists are knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to answer questions without making you feel rushed. The front office staff is equally wonderful—scheduling is easy, they're accommodating, and communication is excellent. After our experiences elsewhere, this office has set the standard for what an orthodontic practice should be. This practice truly stands out.

They always worked with us and always managed to schedule all the appointments as needed and have even made last minute adjustments for us as well! Each appointment was quick and efficient! Unfortunately, my experience at Aspen Orthodontics was disappointing. Throughout my treatment, I often felt that my concerns were not fully heard or taken seriously. During appointments, I was repeatedly told that everything looked “good,” but when I asked for a clear evaluation of my progress after one year, I was not given objective information or a meaningful comparison to where I started. I was also given guidance about the timing of another dental procedure that later turned out to be much too early, according to the specialist I saw. As a result, I took time off work, scheduled an unnecessary appointment, and incurred additional expenses. The most disappointing part was when I decided I wanted to switch from Invisalign to traditional braces. Instead of feeling supported in discussing my options, I felt discouraged from making the change. A billing staff member joined the conversation and explained that traditional braces would require significantly more of the doctor’s time and would involve additional costs. I found that interaction unprofessional and uncomfortable. Looking back, I personally felt that Invisalign may not have been as individualized to my specific needs as I had expected. It also left me with the impression that convenience and efficiency for the practice may have played a larger role in the recommendation than I initially understood. After deciding not to continue Invisalign, nobody discussed removing my attachments, and because I had lost confidence in the process, I never returned and still have them on my teeth today. After investing a year of my time and a significant amount of money, I left feeling unheard, unsupported, and disappointed. My advice to future patients is to ask detailed questions, request objective progress updates throughout treatment, and make sure the recommended plan truly fits their individual needs.
