Risas Dental and Braces - South Tucson

I am so grateful to have found a dental team that makes me feel comfortable and that I can trust. Dr. Hooper is excellent! He always takes great care of me and answers all my questions with professionalism and compassion. He pays attention to detail without being to aggressive with treatment, as to maintain the integrity of natural teeth. His assistants, Melina and Joselyn Paty were amazing! They truly made me feel so comfortable and eased my anxiety. Always going above and beyond and making me feel like I am with old friends whilst maintaining a professional demeanor. For those who don’t have the ability to be seen by a Dentist due to working hours, I highly recommend Dr. Hooper and his team. They have very flexible hours and will do their best to accommodate you find a time that works for you. The have very reasonable pricing and great payment plans as well. As someone with dental anxiety, this team has made maintaining my oral health a breeze. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you Dr. Hooper, Melina and Joselyn!

Definitely not recommended. I went to this office for two fillings. Everything seemed fine for the first two days, but after that I started having an infection in one of the teeth and extreme sensitivity in the other. Two weeks later, I went back to the dentist and explained the problem. The doctor told me everything was normal and that it might take about a month to feel better. However, after three months I was still experiencing the same infection and sensitivity, so I returned again. When I asked about the sensitivity, the doctor said it could sometimes take up to six months. While examining my mouth, he noticed the infection and then told me that I might need to see a specialist. This was the first time he mentioned that. I asked why I needed a specialist, and he said it was because of the infection. I decided to get a second opinion from another dentist. After the examination, I was told that the infection was likely caused by over-drilling during the filling procedure, which damaged my tooth. Because of this, the tooth cannot be saved and now needs to be pulled. The other tooth is still very sensitive. I paid for treatment that ended up damaging my teeth. When I called the office to file a complaint, the manager kept giving me the runaround and said the doctor was on vacation. Since then, they have not responded to me. I am currently waiting for all my documents and records. I plan to file a complaint with the dental board, and my lawyer will be contacting them soon. This place must get investigat and the license must be suspended

5 stars because: 1. Greeted with a warm smile from receptionists upon walking in. 2. Mati was super sweet and explained everything she was doing and why. Very communicative and friendly. 3. Dr. Hobson was incredibly knowledgeable on his exam and seemed to communicate well with Mati. 4. Was offered pricing with concrete details making it very easy to understand from both Mati and Sunny. 5. Can’t wait to begin my clear aligner express treatment!

I’d recommend Risas to anyone!! I went to the clinic on 6th, from the moment I walked in everyone was so friendly! This was my first time going to Risas. Dr. Mulleneaux was AMAZING!! He was calm and friendly, explained everything to me. I needed a lot of work done and was scared (I’ve had bad experiences with dentists) the work was extensive BUT painless. Thank You Dr!! Great payment plans, they worked with me, even tho I had insurance. I definitely will be back.

I had a great experience at my most recent appointment to see my orthodontist. I've been coming here for years, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I want to highlight the detailed care that I received from Mati who was very gentle, patient and reassuring- all qualities that I deeply appreciate while getting work done. It made for a pleasant experience and I felt like I was in the best of hands. This is the level of care that makes me want to continue to return to Risas for all my work. Thank you, Mati!
