Risas Dental and Braces - Tempe

I really wanted to like this office because everyone has always been friendly, but unfortunately my experience hasn’t been great. About six months ago, I had an old filling replaced, and ever since then I’ve had significant pain when chewing and sensitivity to cold. I’ve gone back multiple times to have it adjusted, but the problem still hasn’t been resolved, and it’s frustrating to still be dealing with pain after several visits. I also recently went in for a cleaning, and it felt very rushed. It was one of the quickest cleanings I’ve ever had, and I left feeling like my teeth weren’t thoroughly cleaned. The new dentist I saw (a young lady) also seemed uninterested and didn’t make me feel like my concerns were being taken seriously. One thing that also bothered me is that the office encourages patients to leave positive reviews by offering entry into a raffle for a gift basket or other prize. While that’s their choice, I think reviews should reflect genuine patient experiences rather than be influenced by incentives. I understand that dental work doesn’t always go as planned, but after multiple attempts to fix the same tooth and feeling rushed during my most recent appointment, I can’t say I had the level of care I was hoping for. I hope they take patient concerns more seriously and spend more time providing thorough care.

All three of my kids have had braces here and we have had the best experiences. They are flexible with financing and as well with hours which is so important for a full time working mom. Definitely recommend them.

Came here for a cleaning yesterday, I expressed my interest in getting braces started and literally got them out in today. Everybody is really sweet, pricing is extremely transparent, and their hours are super flexible. Would highly recommend. Jessica did an amazing job on my braces and Moni was amazing with getting me all squared away!

What a poor excuse of a dental office… I lost my retainer & my regular ortho office was closed that day. So I decided to give them a try to see if I could get a replacement… They got me in same day, did the scan for the retainer & told me it could take up to 2 weeks to get it back. Thought that was pretty long seeing as how do you make ppl who freshly get there braces off wait 2 weeks??? Teeth will absolutely have shifted in 2 weeks but I was desperate so whatever. I check back in a week, they didn’t have it back. Okay cool… Checked back on week 2 & still don’t have it back. After blowing the office up with no response I finally get a text from them saying they have been unable to get in touch with the lab so they’ll be in touch. Huh??? How can you not get in contact with a lab you work with on the daily??? Bullshit. Mind u, today marks 3 weeks & I still haven’t heard back from them. Complete TRASH! Save yourself the coins & the headache & go absolutely anywhere else.

The whole team at Risas is amazing! Dr Skaalen is super efficient and gentle. Thalia and Lulu were so kind. Highly recommend using them for all your dental needs 👌 💯
