Dental Health Associates - Sun Prairie Clinic

I am writing this review to share my actual experience from my visits in 2025 across the DHA locations (Sun Prairie and the Old Sauk/Gammon road clinics). I relied heavily on their high star ratings when booking, but my experience was far from professional. It actually made me feel so bad that I stopped my dental care completely for a whole year, and I am only just now planning to get back on track with a different clinic. My biggest complaint is with the general dentistry and hygiene department at the Sun Prairie clinic. The front desk reception behavior felt very inattentive, and they made me wait 30 to 45 minutes past my appointment time. When they finally took me back, the dentist only looked at my mouth for about 5 minutes, had an assistant take notes on what teeth needed fillings, and left. Then, the hygienist started my routine cleaning. After about 30 to 45 minutes, she stopped and told me she couldn't finish because the clinic was closing, so I would have to reschedule to complete it. I thought this was normal at first, but when I called the next day to book the follow-up, the front desk told me I would be charged a completely separate, second cleaning fee for them to finish the job! I have had cleanings done my entire life and they are always finished in one single session. It felt like they were completely taking advantage of the situation to overcharge me and my insurance. For my future visits anywhere else, I will absolutely double-confirm before the treatment even starts that they will finish in one session. To make matters worse, their billing department called me later with a pre-filled bill. If I hadn't pushed them to break down and explain every single item, I would have been charged out-of-pocket for "pre-services" and treatments I hadn't even received yet! I immediately told them to remove those charges and canceled all my future appointments with DHA. Their internal communication is incredibly unprofessional. Even though the orthodontics and regular dentistry departments are under the same company name, they do not coordinate or share charts at all. I had to do all the coordination and scheduling back and forth by myself, which is a terrible patient experience. Don't blindly trust the high ratings here. If you do go, make sure you double-check every step and verify your bills closely. The clinic has my contact info from my 2025 visits and can look into my chart or call me if they need further details. The only positive part of DHA: I want to emphasize that my initial visit to the Orthodontist, Dr. Ammar Alsamawi (at the West/Old Sauk clinic area), was fantastic. Dr. Alsamawi was incredibly professional, welcoming, and examined my teeth thoroughly without any charges. 5 stars to this gentleman who clearly has a great passion for his work! Thank you Dr. Alsamawi for making my experience with DHA feel a little better. He made the entire treatment plan very clear and easy to understand. He is a great specialist, and honestly, I am still truly considering getting my orthodontic treatment with Dr. Alsamawi since he really is a great orthodontist! Unfortunately, the unprofessional logistics, awful wait times, and shady billing on the general dentistry side completely ruined the rest of the company for me.

Dental Health American Center is the best dental office I have been too in a long time! Very friendly, helpful and professional from the front desk (Thank you Jessica!) to the hygienists (Both Wendy & Amy are awesome!!!) Dr. Chad Schwitters is the best dentist I have ever seen!! The whole clinic is amazing! So patient and really take the time to help and answer any questions you have! My whole family sees this team and we wouldn’t go anywhere else! If you are looking for a new dental office I would suggest going here!! They are the best!

I had seen my dentist for a tooth problem. He referred me to Dr. Henry. I was able to get an appointment with her the next day. We had a plan going in but after xrays and some testing, the plan changed. Dr. Kolker stepped in and took care of my tooth without me having to make another appointment and return later. Everyone from the receptionist, the assistants, the financial coordinator etc., were so kind and supportive. I appreciate everything they did for me.

Always very efficient, from check in to departure! Victoria is the best hygienist around! She has been caring for my kids for the past 15 years and they have always felt really comfortable and trust her. She cares for me and my entire family like we are her own family and we are so thankful for that!

staff was Pleasant. The hygienist was very informative. Discussed an item that I had never had discussed with a hygienist relative to the role of sleep apnea and the wearing of my front teeth.
