Dental Health Associates - East Clinic

I had a wonderful dental visit today with Dr. Elliott and Rachel. They were both kind, professional, and made me feel comfortable throughout the appointment. Rachel did an excellent job with my cleaning and explained everything clearly. Dr. Elliott was thorough. I truly appreciate the excellent care and friendly atmosphere. Thank you both for making my visit such a positive experience!

I have been using Dental Health Associates for over 45 years. I have noticed, at my last few appointments to have my teeth cleaned, the hygienist uses water at the gum line to clean my teeth. Very little scraping with an instrument is used. This method does not clean my teeth very well. I can still feel, using my tongue, the curving in areas that a person has between their teeth, still is not clean. I am not talking about the actually part where the teeth almost or actually meet. But the part you can feel with your tongue. Does your office not clean the area any longer? My appointment was for 9:30. I was out of there by 9:45.

Recently moved to the east Madison area and did not have any dental connections in the area. My first visit was just a cleaning and routine checkup and it was great. Very nice people and they were so efficient, I was out in less than an hour! Will definitely be going back.

I have been a patient at Dental Health Associates East for 20+ years. What has kept me going there for so long is not the dentists, but rather the dental hygienists. I ended up with Dr Elliott because his hygienist Lisa was topnotch. When Lisa left, she was eventually replaced by Laura, another topnotch hygienist. Over the course of decades, I became a parent & brought my daughter to this DHA location. I referred at least three different families to Lisa, Dr Elliott & Dr Shasker (orthodontia). A week ago, I returned for a scheduled visit to DHA. I am joining Peace Corps & needed paperwork & x-rays completed for Peace Corps Medical Clearance. Because of the transition from my job in healthcare to Peace Corps, I changed dental insurance providers. I now have Forward Health (BadgerCare) until my Peace Corps assignment/coverage begins. I clearly communicated this information to a Patient Coordinator Alexus a month before my appointment. I shared my concern that since my appointment was scheduled just 4 days before Peace Corps paperwork was due & wondered if perhaps I should schedule an earlier appt. to ensure we got everything done. Alexus assured me all was good (insurance, paperwork completion, timeline) Yet when I arrived for my appointment, none of the Peace Corps paperwork had been shared with the hygienist or Dr Elliott. But worse than that, I was told that DHA would not accept my BadgerCare insurance. I was told I could pay out of pocket or go elsewhere. When I met with Laura & Dr Elliott, I expressed my unhappiness at the turn of events. Now, there was no longer enough time for me to identify and schedule with another dental office. Besides, Dr Elliott had been seeing me for 20+ years and knew my history. I shared with him that I felt what I was experiencing was a poor way to treat a long-term patient who had supported the business for decades. Dr Elliott made a non-committal comment about how they'll have to talk about that, then departed. A few days later, I received a bill from DHA for $158 for the services provided that day. $158! Not $1580 or even a couple hundred dollars. A relatively small fee. I find the fact that DHA refused to accept BadgerCare for such a small amount, and did not even consider saying "We'll cover this for you. We should have told you we don't accept BadgerCare when you called and mentioned it to us. We value your long-term commitment to our practice. Thank you." Nope, nothing like that. I will not be returning to DHA East or any of the DHA locations. Surely, there must be other dental practices that honor loyalty and referrals.

Awesome job by the hygienist working with my Mother who has dementia. The hygienist was open to try whatever worked best so she wouldn’t be upset. I appreciated her kindness and skill to clean her teeth.
