I had previously visited this location about 10 years ago for an orthodontic appointment, but I was mostly a patient at the Long Beach Newport Dental location. I recently called to schedule a general dentistry appointment here and was pleasantly surprised that they had an opening within the week on a Saturday at 10:30 AM. Since I had never seen the general dentist at this location, I went in as a new patient. I would recommend arriving about 10–20 minutes early for your appointment because the paperwork can take a little longer than the estimated 10 minutes. Dr. Choi was my dentist, and I had a great experience with him. He was kind, patient, and made me feel comfortable throughout my visit. He completed my cavity filling and has also recommended getting my wisdom teeth removed in the past, but I never felt pressured or rushed. That’s something I really appreciate because it made me feel like he genuinely cared about my dental health. I believe he is there every Saturday, and I would definitely recommend scheduling with him if you’re able to. The hygienist was also very friendly and did a great job. My cleaning and filling were both done comfortably and without any pain. I also want to recognize the front office/admin staff. They were very helpful in making sure my insurance coverage was correct. Initially, the system was not showing my full coverage, but he took the time to double-check everything, and when he came back, the correct coverage was reflected. I really appreciated him taking the extra step to verify it, which allowed me to complete my check-in, cleaning, and appointment the same day. Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend this office, especially Dr. Choi and the team there.

At first it was great. Dentist and staff were friendly. They wanted us to move forward with a recommend procedure. I asked if my insurance covers it. They said yes. I said okay and did the procedure. About a couple weeks later they send me a bill of over $500. I called and told them I already paid my part. They said I did but I need to pay more. Something didn't feel right so I called my insurance. My insurance verified I did pay what I needed to pay and no further action was needed from me. Come to find out they did the procedure without proper approval from my insurance and tried to make me pay the bill instead. They are still sending me the bill and are constantly calling to force me to pay. When this is entirely their fault for moving forward with a procedure without proper approval and then lying to me that it was approved. Shame on them. Never coming back here.

I wanted to specifically leave this review for both Ashely and Alex. I had my wisdom teeth removed yesterday and both ladies were so very kind to me. It's always important to have a friendly staff, but especially at a dental office. Every time I have gone in the whole staff has been super kind and upfront, but in particular Ashley and Alex were super busy yesterday and they were so kind and helpful to everyone they interacted with. I was waiting in the office nearly 5 hours for my surgery and saw how kind they were to everyone. Willy is also extremely kind and helpful. I've always felt that care has been in great hands here.

My husband had an appointment at 10:00 a.m. and arrived 15 minutes early. He waited until 11:30 a.m. without anyone calling him back or providing an update. It doesn’t seem fair to schedule appointments if patients aren’t going to be seen within a reasonable time. We understand that delays can happen, but waiting an hour and a half past the appointment time without any communication is unacceptable. At the very least, patients should be seen within 30 minutes of their scheduled appointment or be informed about significant delays.
