I have enjoyed my experience at Gladwell Orthodontics at Glenwood Ave, downtown Raleigh! The doctors and staff there are both friendly and professional! Meisha attended me at my most recent visit and she was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process! She's very caring, knowledgeable and made my visit a truly great experience. Dr. Frank was also amazing and he turned my smile into a real beauty! Gladwell is very fortunate to have both of them working there, for sure! I highly recommend Gladwell Orthodontics to anyone as you start your smile journey!! Many thanks!!
Had such a great orthodontist appointment! Meisha was incredibly gentle and effective, making the entire visit comfortable. And Dr. Partrick—she’s truly the best. I just love her. Together, they made my appointment an absolute joy. Highly recommend!
This is a generous rating at the moment, but I'm sitting the fence to see how this practice handles the challenges from here so that I'll go one way or another. Laster Orthodontics suddenly closed shop in November 2025. No advance notice, no email, just a text that they were closing and we should follow up with Gladwell Orthodontics to reschedule. I surmised (correctly) that my appointment set for a couple weeks in the future was no longer. I contacted Laster staff and they were apologetic but shutting down immediately, and best of luck to me finishing the ortho treatment I'd prepaid. I waited a few weeks to contact Gladwell to set a new appointment as I was now on the hook to do. I figured they were slammed at the outset. No answer, I left a voicemail, no reply. So I waited another month to call again. No answer, I left a voicemail and wanted a call back from a practice manager. Yay, I got a call back. But I was informed that they were making appointments for 6-8 weeks out, no news to share what happened with Laster Orthodontics, but he is back working with Gladwell (although not told in which office or offered an appointment to be overseen by him for some level of continuity of care). I was told Gladwell would not support aligner types Laster used so at my next appointment, they'd remove trays and all buttons/attachments (a process I've heard is horrible and about which I am very concerned=>nervous=>scared as I have gum recession and teeth sensitivity...I was dismissed with an offhand, "no, it's not a difficult process."), re-scan me YET again, order new aligners that would arrive in 4-6 weeks. I refused the new button/aligner/scan process as I have major gum recession issues and other concerns so was told by practice manager that I could then set appointment to have all orthodontia removed and I'd be done. WHAT?! I prepaid for all of this. Practice manager told me that while they had major transition issues, all was improving daily. Well...unlike last month, I did get a call back, and from a practice manager as requested. But otherwise not so much improvement today at least given the news I was told and how my concerns were dismissed and mishandled. Oh, and right at the end of the call, I was told that the hygienist I had JUST started to request late in the relationship with Laster after prior hygienists had missed some meaningful challenges, messing up my treatment and making for a longer process....was no longer with the practice. So..."sorry not sorry," they were. That was changing too. WOW. Great experience. I have extensive corporate and merger experience; this may be the single worst one I've ever seen. I have no idea what personal or professional issues led to this abrupt change and don't want to add to anyone's challenges. I'm a compassionate & significantly service-oriented person. But no explanation, flexibility, amend making, begging forgiveness, etc. Just nothing. Please turn it around Laster and Gladwell. I'd love to have the rating and review get better from here, because 3 stars is "lying high" for now.
Gladwell has treated me well since the 1st day I stepped in the office. Meisha has always been a blessing. Her personality is top notch and she always makes me feel comfortable while in her chair. I love coming here.
I arrived 15 minutes early today with my young son for his appointment at the Strickland Road location. One person at the front desk told me to check in on a front facing computer. I did and at the end of that check-in process, the computer said I "still needed to check-in." I was like okay LOL, then waited to speak to a different person at the front desk. She looked at her computer and said my son had been checked in. So we sat down and waited over 30 minutes. Repeatedly we saw other people get called back. I needed to get my son back to school, and get back to my own work. So I went to the front desk again and asked if they were running behind and if I could reschedule. To my astonishment the person at the front (a third person) said "I don't see you checked in." Wow! I mean even if they did drop the ball on checking in someone (twice btw), they could have simply asked any of the people in the small waiting room if they were my son and we could have been seen on time. Front desk staff needs quite a bit of training. We did finally get seen promptly after I had to "check-in twice" and additionally go back to the front desk to ask what was going on. The hygienist and doctor in the back were really apologetic and professional at least. Not sure if I will bring my other son here or just go somewhere else when it is his time for braces.
