So the process was super simple. The back office had a bit of miscommunication and really discouraged me. But once I let go and let God and got too my appointment the staff were super friendly! The front desk was quick and informative. The doctor was very thorough and gentle. And the application process of my braces were seamless. I really love this orthodontist and recommend anyone who’s just moved to Dallas like myself or already in the area looking for an orthodontist to most definitely come to Somo💕

I chose this dental clinic because they advertised a same-day root canal at a specific price online. Initially, the patient coordinator quoted me a price that was more than double the amount advertised by the clinic. It wasn’t until I showed her their own promotion that she adjusted the price to match what was being advertised. That experience left me feeling as though I was being charged whatever they thought they could get away with rather than being given transparent, consistent pricing from the start. However, she then added an additional $200 charge for “sealing” the root canal because she wanted to charge more. When I reviewed the bill, the charge was listed under a code for four or more sealings, which did not accurately reflect the procedure performed. When I questioned it, I was told they didn’t have an appropriate billing code and simply used a different code to charge the fee. The root canal procedure itself was performed well, and I have no complaints about the dental work. My issue is entirely with the billing practices. I felt misled and pressured into paying an extra $200 that was never clearly explained upfront. If you’re considering this clinic, pay very close attention to your treatment plan and billing details before agreeing to any charges. Good dental work, but the billing process left me feeling hustled rather than cared for as a patient.

Today was my first visit and I could not be happier. Super friendly staff, made solid recommendations for bridge work I will need to have done and very reasonable pricing. My family will be using them going forward for any dental needs!

I’m highly disappointed with my experience at Somos Dental. I had never had a bad experience of the dentist, but this one will go in the books. I called ahead explaining that my wisdom teeth were swollen, extremely painful, and that I specifically needed an extraction as soon as possible. I had already seen my dentist earlier that week, and they told me I needed the teeth removed. When I asked for the earliest appointment available, I was told Friday, so I assumed I was being scheduled for the extraction itself. I drove about 40 minutes to the appointment expecting to finally get relief from the pain. They took X-rays, but didn’t even put the protective vest/apron on me during them, which already made me uncomfortable. Then during the exam, the dentist quickly checked my mouth and told me I had no cavities, even though my regular dentist and hygienist had just told me I have a cavity that needed to be filled. The exam felt rushed, and there was a lot of pressure being applied while checking my teeth, which caused even more discomfort. After all of that, I was then told I couldn’t even get the extraction done because the oral surgeon wasn’t in town and wouldn’t be back until June. That was never mentioned when I called to schedule. If I specifically called for a wisdom tooth extraction and they already knew the surgeon would not be available, why wasn’t I told that before making the appointment? I ended up wasting time, gas, and sitting in pain just to be there for about 10 minutes and be told to come back another day. If this was only going to be a consultation, they should have clearly communicated that from the beginning. The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is because the exam was free.

I went to Somos Dental yesterday to have a back molar extracted. I will be very honest, I was petrified to be there. The staff did a great job at making me comfortable during the operation. Dr. Alex did an amazing job at removing this molar and talking me all the way through the operation. I’ve never had a tooth removed without any major damage to my gums except for yesterday. There was no unnecessary cutting into my gums to remove the molar. Yes of course there’s a hole that’s healing from the tooth removal, but no excess damage beyond that. Although this was an extraction, there was no real pain during the operation either, just noise. They numbed my mouth very well. I am very impressed with the work of Dr. Alex and the rest of his team, the folks I met and interacted with were all very compassionate. Although going to the dentist is quite scary to me, if I have to go to the dentist again, this will be where I go. I would absolutely recommend them.👌🏼 next time I’ll bring my headphones to avoid the dental tool noises.😅
