Our family loves North Texas Orthodontic Associates. They handled braces for all 3 of my kids. Their offices are conveniently located. Appointments are easy to get. The staff is so friendly it's like spending time with people you've known your whole life. With each kid they generously gave me the "cash rate" even though I payed in two installments to get the maximum benefit from my employers flexible spending account (for medical purchases).

North Texas Orthodontic Associate ,PA I would like to formally express my concerns regarding the treatment I recently received at your office. I originally had braces placed in October 2013, and they were removed on October 29, 2014. At that time, Dr. Schecter bonded fixed wires behind both my upper and lower front teeth to prevent spacing from reopening, as my front teeth had a tendency to separate after orthodontic treatment. I was also provided with removable retainers to maintain alignment. I had no issues with either the bonded wires or my bite for many years. On April 4, 2026, while eating at a restaurant, I bit into a hard carrot and noticed that the bonded wire behind my lower front teeth shifted slightly out of alignment. Although it was not causing pain, I was concerned that the wire was no longer straight, so I scheduled an appointment at your office on April 10, 2026. When arranging the visit, I was informed by a staff representative that there would be a $150 charge for the appointment. During that visit, the assistant removed only the portion of the bonded wire that had shifted, adjusted it, and then rebonded it to my lower teeth. I had expected that the entire lower bonded wire would be removed and replaced with a new wire, since the original wire had been bent out of position. Since that adjustment, I have experienced discomfort, pressure, and pain when biting. I also noticed that the lower bonded wire was not rebonded evenly or straight, especially when compared to the upper bonded wire originally placed by Dr. Schecter. Because of these symptoms, I returned to the office on April 14, 2026, for evaluation by Dr. Donald Copenhaver. During that visit, my concerns regarding the discomfort and bite changes did not seem to be fully addressed. Instead, the issue was attributed to my retainer, despite the fact that I had no problems prior to the wire replacement. I was informed that I would need a new retainer at a cost of $750 out of pocket. Dr. Copenhaver made some adjustments by grinding with a dental instrument; however, the pressure and discomfort when biting continued, and the underlying concern regarding the uneven bonded wire placement was not resolved. Because my symptoms persisted, I returned again on April 16, 2026. Unfortunately, I felt that my concerns were still not adequately addressed. Additional grinding was performed, but the discomfort and bite pressure remain unresolved. I am disappointed that the focus has been on temporary adjustments rather than correcting what appears to be the fundamental issue—the uneven placement of the lower bonded wire. I am requesting a thorough reevaluation of the bonded wire placement and an appropriate resolution to restore a comfortable and functional bite without additional unnecessary cost. I hope this matter can be reviewed seriously and addressed promptly. Thank you for your attention. For comparison, I reviewed the bonded wire placement and observed a noticeable difference between the work previously completed by Dr. J and the recent work completed by Dr. Copenhaver. The wire placement completed by Dr. J was even and straight, whereas the wire placement completed during my recent visit appears uneven. This visible difference is concerning to me, especially because my discomfort and bite pressure began only after the recent adjustment.

Both of my kids have had orthodontic treatment with Dr. Copenhaver. He is very knowledgeable with complex cases, which turns out to be the case with both boys! He is patient, a perfectionist and also always has a couple of jokes up his sleeves at every visit!! Wity multiple clinics, scheduling is very easy and his team is great, from the front to the back! Highly recommend NTOA!!

Dr. Copenhaven and NTOA are awesome. Their work and customer service are top notch. I was a patient over 10 years ago, went back in for a retainer just recently, and they remembered me. I would always recommend them to anyone getting braces! They treat you like family and not a customer!

We had a wonderful experience with Dr. C and his staff. Our daughter had her braces for a little over a year and each visit was pleasant. They communicated well with us and as the time neared for her to have them removed they made sure she was 100% satisfied with the results. Dr. C’s dad jokes and ability to make us laugh were a special added bonus.
