Harvey and Thomas Orthodontics- formerly known as Dr. Steadman McMurphy

I recently completed Invisalign treatment with an orthodontist in another state. Four months after finishing treatment and having a permanent retainer placed, my husband and I hit the road as full-time RVers. While traveling through the area, my retainer came unglued and started poking the roof of my mouth. I called several orthodontic offices, and Strickland Orthodontics was the only one able to get me in the same day. Dr. Grissom examined the retainer, reattached it at no charge, and let me know she had concerns about how it had originally been placed. She encouraged me to return if I continued having issues. Sure enough, within 24 hours the other side came loose. I called back and was seen the very next day. They removed the retainer and fitted me for a new one. Knowing we were only in the area temporarily, the team expedited the process. After Dr. Grissom went on maternity leave, Dr. Stephen Strickland stepped in and was able to place my new retainer in less than two weeks. The entire team went above and beyond for someone who wasn't originally their patient. Everyone was incredibly accommodating, professional, and caring. A special shoutout to Megan and Carley in the Spanish Fort office. They made every visit enjoyable and were an absolute hoot! If you're looking for an orthodontic practice that truly cares about patients, even those just passing through town, I highly recommend Strickland Orthodontics.

I loved this practice when it was McMurphy. Dr. McMurphy and his team always took great care of my son through phase I braces into phase II, but this transition into Harvey and Thomas has been rocky. Getting a new orthodontist in the middle of treatment is less than ideal, especially when the first meeting with them is less than 5 minutes long. It is also not comforting to know that my billing information was lost in the transition, with no prior communication about the transition. I am less than impressed with Harvey and Thomas’s team.

Dr. McMurphy has been awesome since I went there for my first appointment. Clean office and very nice, knowledgeable staff. I was nervous at first, but after talking to Dr. McMurphy and his assistant I felt at home. The assistant was very nice to me and very helpful. She made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I love this office!!
