Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics of Chattanooga

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share our experience so other families can make informed decisions. This feedback is not directed at the dentist or hygienist, who were kind and professional. My concerns are strictly about the billing practices and treatment recommendations. We brought our son in for a cavity on a baby tooth he will lose in approximately 1–2 years. We were told he needed a crown, and the cost with insurance was quoted at around $1,200. We were also told sedation was not covered and that they do not offer payment plans, only CareCredit. Before we even left the office, the billing staff called requesting full payment upfront before we could schedule treatment. Only after pushing back were we told there was a hospital sedation option where medical insurance might apply — yet the estimated total was still nearly $1,200, making it difficult to justify that cost for a baby tooth. We decided to get a second opinion at another local pediatric dentist. That dentist was surprised a crown had been recommended at all. They simply filled the small cavity for $78 with insurance (compared to previous $250+ fillings here), and they offered less invasive sedation options like laughing gas, no IV sedation required. Months later, our son has had zero issues with the tooth. I understand treatment approaches can vary, but the combination of high pricing, pressure to pay in full immediately, and lack of transparent sedation options felt more financial than patient-centered. Based on our experience, I would recommend parents seek a second opinion before committing to treatment here.

We saw Dr. Jason for my baby’s lip & tongue tie revisions & could not recommend him more! All the staff at the office are so kind & friendly! We are switching to their office for my oldest daughter’s dental appointments because of the fantastic experience we’ve had with our baby being seen there.

My daughter enjoyed her visit. She enjoyed the wild waiting room and the tv’s over the dental exam chairs. The staff were very kid friendly and aware.

Our daughter had a procedure scheduled and we were told we had to pay for the anesthesia portion ($250 up front and the remainder on the day of procedure). We asked if the total we were quoted was before or after insurance. The office confirmed that insurance had been run. I compared my benefits to the itemized bill that I requested and the total did not make sense. It turned out that this dentistry has a third party come in for anesthesia and that third party does NOT accept insurance. This was not clear until there had already been multiple conversations and I requested the itemized bill. We went somewhere less than a mile away, received great care and SAVED almost $1000. In this economy, I thought it would be helpful to inform other parents. I pay a ton for insurance and would like to use it when possible. On a positive note, the staff are friendly with the kids.

We've been going here for years and have always gotten friendly and quality service. Today, my child had a bad toothache. They were able to fit us in fast and we got in and out fast, too. They were kind and really listened to my child and made him feel comfortable.
