Lets start with if i could give negative stars this would definetly be rated -5 stars.. Straight joke of a business. Scheduled appointment never heard anything other than time was changed. Called to reschedule and they said I wasn't scheduled.. phone number is linked between offices. Got told the day that I was scheduled for they dont see people on that day. Then they were supposed to call me back to reschedule, over 14days and still haven't heard anything from anyone at office.

I have debated whether or not to post this, because I am typically one to just move on in life but I think if this can help others then I should share. I was not scared of going to the dentist before going here, and now (a year later) the thought of going to the dentist fills me with a lot of dread and anxiety. I found this dentist when I needed emergency dental work done and was informed I needed a root canal. I’ve had bad teeth my entire life and this wasn’t my first root canal, so while I was bummed I needed another I was not entirely surprised. I will also add that I had been to the dentist 3 months before this and regularly got cleanings. A lot went wrong in this root canal. To start with, they had my mouth open from 2PM to 6PM. They commented on my mouth being small and instead of adjusting to accommodate more breaks they put in extra bite blocks. This led to my jaw and muscles on the right side of face to be inflamed for 14 days. The excruciating jaw pain that I experienced was worse than the original toothache I saw them for. To this day, I still experience jaw pain if I sleep on that side or if I clench my jaw (I never experienced regular jaw pain before this). Additionally, while doing my root canal, the doctor had apparently forgotten which part of my mouth was numb and rested the tool which places the boiling root canal filling on my lip. I screamed and the doctor said , “oh you can feel that?” — she was the one who numbed me. Regardless of the numbness, I would have had a blister on my mouth as a result because the tool burnt me badly. This blister was bad, and lasted 4 days. After all of this, they did not adjust my bite correctly. I went back to the dentist a total of 8 times post-root canal to adjust the bite. I could not chew or rest my mouth properly without pain due to the bite discomfort. I had a standing appointment with that dentist for 2 months, to the point where the receptionist joked “see you next week!”. While they were good to keep seeing me to adjust my bite, I don’t think this should be that hard. My bite still does not feel 100%, but I got so tired of going and honestly scared of the pain (each time it hurt). I paid well over $2600 (with insurance) for all the services provided. I did not plan to make this review, but it’s been a year and I still haven’t been back to the dentist because of this experience. EDIT: This dentist messed up my root canal so bad that my tooth is salvageable and I have to get an implant. Do not go here.

Did not disclose full information and process for new patient until arrival to the dentist (their process is different from the other dentists I have visited) and they moved the appointment up 30 minutes and still did not see me at the new time that they designated

I've been going to Doctor Safavian for over 5 years and can say I trust him with any and all of my dentistry needs. He is great at making a game plan for your teeth as in what is priority versus cosmetic needs. He has been great working with my insurance over the years. I have had about everything you can think of done on my teeth and have been through many dentists and I still think Dr. Safa is the best. Dr. Alessi is another dentist at the practice and he is fantastic and I trust him and his opinion as well. Don't be completely alarmed that the price seems high. After the work is done and my claim is submitted, after a month I will typically have a positive balance on my account so maybe they estimate higher. I didn't understand the process at first but basically they will give you an estimate of what the insurance will cover, you pay, and wait for the insurance to go through and you may have a positive balance afterwards that you can either send back to your card or keep for future use. (Knowing this process helps) For dentist anxiety: this is the first practice I have went to that has calmed me down. I also ask for laughing gas and it's worth the $50 or whatever for it because it chills me out. Tell Dr. Safa your anxiety concerns and he will help you. They also have a care package that has a weighted blanket and other amenities for extreme anxiety. All in all, I love this office and will continue going as long as they keep up everything to my higher standard. ☺️

I have only had positive experiences at Capitol Square Dental! Megan goes above and beyond to make sure everything is billed and charged properly. She also makes the space feel welcoming and really helps ease any anxiety around being at the dentist. Dr. Jones is the best dentist! He is efficient, empathetic, and kind. Cavity fillings have always been an unpleasant and uncomfortable experience, but he does everything he can to make it comfortable and quick! I recommend anyone who has anxiety or fear of dental procedures to see him!!
