King Orthodontics

I recently finished my treatment after enduring two years with this clinic, and I feel it’s important to share my genuine experience. First and foremost, I found the staff at King Orthodontics to be unprofessional and lacking in proper communication. From the very beginning, they made me feel like I had no other options, insisting that if I wanted to switch clinics, no other place would accept me because I had an existing contract—this is simply false. Patients always have the right to seek care elsewhere if they’re not comfortable. Throughout the two years, punctuality was a major issue. Appointments were often delayed, and the clinic would schedule multiple patients at the same time, resulting in long waiting periods. Dr. King himself was very distant; he rarely communicated with me about my progress and seemed uninterested in my concerns. I noticed him socializing with staff but never engaging with me directly, which gave me the impression that he didn’t like me or care about my experience. Moreover, I was never properly informed about my treatment progress. They placed buttons on my teeth that were never used, and they asked if I was using my rubber bands, which I was never instructed to do. I was shocked because I expected clearer guidance. The assistant was sometimes rude, making me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The receptionist was somewhat better, with a decent attitude and doing her job well, but she also failed to communicate properly about my treatment schedule and delays. Much of this responsibility seemed to fall on Dr. King, who rarely provided updates. One of the most disappointing moments was when I went in to have my braces removed. I wasn’t informed ahead of time, and the process was rushed. The results were unsatisfactory—my teeth had overbites, and there was leftover glue, indicating a poorly executed job. Overall, my experience was disappointing and frustrating. If you value respectful treatment, clear communication, and professionalism, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This clinic seems more focused on money than on providing quality care. This review is written sincerely and in hopes that others can make a more informed decision about their orthodontic care.

It's been over 12 years since I've been to Dr. King at King Orthodontics. And I must say, it' was just as I remembered, fast forward a decade or so. From the sweet tunes, amazing staff (Sidney, Maria, Dr. King himself, and Mrs. King). I was super nervous trying to get my retainer after a decade but Dr. King was super genuine and nice with explaining next steps on getting everything taken care of. I live two hours away and I must say he and his staff are definitely worth the travel! I 10/10 highly recommend King Orthodontics!

Dr. King, Markeetia, and Maria are always a pleasure to interact with. It’s been almost 2 years since my last appointment (I’m in college and don’t live in Durham) Dr. King made me feel right back at home after over a year of not being treated. He explained my next steps and I told him I will be obedient from here on out lol. Everyone in the office is so nice and kind, and might I add, funny! They will make you laugh and you will enjoy your appointment. I highly recommend King Orthodontics for your orthodontic care!

My son had to get braces and I really wasn't sure i how I felt about it especially since i never had any. I have really appreciated this office. The ladies that work the front are so wonderful and always look out for my son. The Dr. King is straight to the point and very knowledgeable. I definitely recommend them if you or someone you know needs any orthodontic work done

Dr. King is awesome! He is so kind and has an incredible sense of humor. He made my 8 year old daughter so comfortable. She is actually excited to get braces 😁. Highly recommend!!
