I recently moved from out of state and was late on a cleaning. I found this office as a recommendation from a co-worker, so decided to go despite seeing bad reviews. Unfortunately, the one scathing reviews are warranted. On my first visit, I received xrays but a minimal exam and then was told I have three cavities, an active gum infection and needed a deep cleaning. The dentist was nice but spent very little time explaining his recommendations. Thankfully I was able to secure an appointment at my old dentist's office and received a second opinion as I have been very meticulous about my teeth and actually had no pain at all (even though small cavities probably don't cause pain) and the dentist did not do an exam. My old office actually did a full and thorough exam on my teeth and said I don't have any cavities, don't have gum inflammation and don't need a deep cleaning. They reviewed the treatment plan from South End "premier" dentistry and said that one tooth that I was told had a cavity was a stain and the others were grooves. They confirmed that I did not have any cavities. I try to take good and bad reviews with a grain of salt, but this office deserves the negative reviews it has received. I do NOT recommend this office, please save yourself the time and money and go elsewhere. They do validate parking. It also smells funky inside, like spoiled food.

I wanted to find a dentist closer to the house, so I decided to give this office a try and see if it could become my new dental home. As a new patient, I came in expecting a routine cleaning. I had X-rays taken, gum measurements completed, and met with the dentist. To be clear, the dentist was extremely nice, and the staff themselves are not the issue. After the exam, I was told I needed a deep cleaning that would require four separate appointments, each lasting about an hour to an hour and a half over the next several weeks. I declined and asked if I could simply have a routine cleaning instead. I was told that because I had now been diagnosed, a routine cleaning was no longer an option and that the only treatment available was the four-session deep cleaning. What concerns me is that I left without any cleaning at all and was presented with a treatment plan that would cost insurance more than $900, plus my additional out-of-pocket expenses. As a new patient, that experience felt frustrating and left me questioning whether the recommended treatment was truly necessary or whether there should have been a more reasonable path forward. Scam? Not sure. Disappointed with the bait and switch? 100000%

Their cancellation policy is incredibly elitist and harsh: 1 week notice to cancel or reschedule… within that 7 days you will need to pay $100. They did note that the first offense is waived, but the change in this policy is enough to make me want to switch dentists. As someone who works at a hospital and is a parent, it is incredibly difficult to predict my schedule within 7 days. I called on 6/4 to reschedule my appointment on 6/8 and was then informed about the cancellation policy. Just this April, the fee was $50 and I believe the notice period was 48 hours.

I was not going to leave a review for my awful, but then I received a bill in the mail for a routine cleaning. THE WORST DENTIST EVER! I went for a routine cleaning, took the lady about 10 minutes to take x-rays, then went to another room where she told me my gums look fine (which I know is not true because other dentist have commented on my gums lines), then Dr. T came in. Literally did not even look in my mouth yet and told me I needed 4 crowns, 3 fillings and my wisdom teeth out. I was in tears and he tried laughing it off. They then brought me to the front to tell me I would be over $5000, after insurance and I should book all of it together since I would be numb. I said no, and then they were pushing me to do the cavities and crowns. Again, I said no and booked the cavities. They then have the nerve to ask if I still wanted a cleaning LOL, like that's why I came here. I immediately left and called a new dentist had my x-rays sent and never looked back. The awful bedside manner as well as incompetence is WILD. I don't believe this visit is considered a 'comprehensive oral exam' that was billed. Do yourself a favor and find a different dentist or you would probably be better off not going to a dentist if this is your only choice.

I normally never leave reviews, but after reading other experiences here I honestly felt compelled to share mine. I originally booked this appointment through Zocdoc for a specific provider, but when I arrived I was switched to someone else without any communication beforehand, which already started the visit off oddly. The entire appointment flow felt disorganized and chaotic. I spent a good amount of time waiting during different parts of the visit, but at the same time everything somehow still felt extremely rushed once someone was actually working on me. I also thought it was strange that the dentist came in to discuss findings before I had even gotten my cleaning done. I went in for a routine cleaning/checkup and was then told I suddenly needed 16 fillings, despite previously having very few dental issues and not being in any pain. Multiple hygienists rotated through my appointment, the cleaning itself was unusually aggressive and extremely quick, and I left feeling more confused and pressured than informed. The dentist pointed out several “bad” areas but didn’t clearly explain why they were cavities versus stains/watch areas, and there was little discussion of monitoring or conservative treatment options before jumping to extensive dental work. The way the findings were delivered honestly left me feeling embarrassed and ashamed in a way I’ve never experienced at a dentist before. There was also a lot of focus on my vaping, which I understand is relevant to oral health, but the overall tone of the appointment felt more judgmental than educational. This was my first time trying a new dentist after going to the same hometown dentist since I was a little girl, and the experience honestly made me understand why some people become anxious about dental visits. I realized afterward how fortunate I was to grow up with a dentist who made patients feel calm and informed instead of overwhelmed. The back treatment area also felt noticeably more outdated and less clean/professional than expected, which added to my discomfort during the visit. After leaving, I started reading reviews and was honestly shocked by how many people described being told they needed large amounts of work, only to later get second opinions with dramatically different findings. I’m very grateful I paused before scheduling treatment. I would strongly encourage anyone receiving a major treatment plan here to get a second opinion before proceeding.
