I had a very concerning experience at Smiles of Cary that led to a serious medical situation. I initially went in for dental treatment and was advised to proceed with care on a tooth that, in hindsight, should have been evaluated more cautiously. Within days, my condition worsened significantly. I developed severe swelling under my jaw, pain, and difficulty opening my mouth. Despite reaching out, the response and escalation of care were delayed. The prescribed medication was not timely or appropriate for the severity of the infection. As a result, the infection progressed to the point where I had to go to the emergency room and was admitted to the hospital for IV antibiotics and monitoring. This was not a minor complication — it was a preventable escalation. Following hospitalization, I ultimately required extraction of teeth #30 and #31 along with a bone graft, which could potentially have been avoided or mitigated with earlier and more appropriate intervention. To be fair, the staff was courteous, but clinical judgment and urgency are what matter most in these situations, and that is where my experience fell short. I would strongly encourage anyone considering treatment here to: Ask detailed questions about diagnosis and alternatives Seek a second opinion for complex cases Ensure clear follow-up protocols are in place This review is based entirely on my personal experience and the sequence of events that followed my treatment.

Tried to schedule an appointment for nutritional testing with KMBO. the receptionist (Juana i believe was her name?) had me email my insurance card to see if they took it. I called back later after emailing it, she couldnt locate the email, so i provided her with multiple things (subject line, my email address) she finally located the email after putting me on a 5 minute hold, reconnecting with me even though I had asked to speak with someone who may better understand what I was asking for. She then asked if I needed a cleaning or to see a doctor….? I stated multiple times I was calling to ask about their KMBO testing. She asked if she could give me a call back, at this point I had been on the phone for 12+ mins just to see if they even took my insurance. She told me she needed to confirm if they did this type of testing (even though its literally listed on their website). I tried asking for a manager and was told that she was waiting on him. I have never had such a hard time just trying to schedule an appointment. Unless you like being talked down to, good luck making an appointment for services other than dental services.

Have had nothing but great experiences here. Front desk staff are so personable and friendly, all the hygienists have been super nice and have been gentle on my teeth. I don’t feel that unnecessary services are pushed, and they have genuinely made me feel good about my dental hygiene instead of constantly lacking, as other offices have done despite following all recommendations. Very very happy we started coming here.

As a new patient, I called with unexpected emergency pain. Showed up same-day, was shown compassion and squeezed in. The entire team from the front to the back was attentive and Excellent. I enjoyed, both, Dr Ferzli's precise expertise and the care of his passionate assistant, Malak. Thankfully, my pain seems to have been fully resolved, my coronation went well with no complications, and I have a new crown. :)
