Lakes Orthodontics - Maplewood

I absolutely love Dr. Wang and the entire team at Lakes Orthodontics! Both of my daughters are currently in treatment, and the staff makes scheduling and communication so easy and stress-free. Everyone is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional, and the office is always clean and comfortable. My daughters are almost finished with their treatment, and I couldn’t be more excited to see their beautiful final smiles. I highly recommend Lakes Orthodontics to anyone looking for top-notch care!

My permanent retainer broke after a ten year run (I am a former patient of Dr Montgomery), I visited the Shoreview location for a retainer consultation with Dr Wang and a fitting (scanned) with technician. Dr. Wang guided me with my decision to opt for the removable retainer rather than replacing the broken one. I appreciated that Dr Wang was cost conscious and didn’t try to steer me into the most expensive option. Also, I was very happy to learn that there is location in Maplewood and this is where I picked up my retainer a week later. The retainer is perfect. The technician at Maplewood was great and she made sure that I understood the correct procedure for cleaning and care of the retainer. The service at both locations is top notch. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Appointments are on time. I am pleased with the results and would recommend both facilities.

The offices are clean, the orthodontist assistants have always been friendly. My main complaints are with the number of challenges we had with my son's expander and braces. When his expander was first placed we had to make 4+ trips back to the office within the first week because it kept falling off, sometimes hours after being placed. It wasn't because of what he was doing, it was how it was adhered. I understand this is a tricky process with small teeth and small mouths and making sure the teeth get dry enough for the glue to adhere so I was willing to let this go, even though it was a huge hassle. Next came the braces, overall it was fine but there were a few instances where we had to come back multiple times within days to get wires places correctly that were actually digging holes in his cheek. This happened at least twice, my son was quite the trooper through it all, but it was hard to watch him in pain with an issue that should have been resolved with the first visit. The final straw was with the removal of his braces. We came in two weeks before removal to get his expander removed and to scan for retainers, with the idea that the retainer would be there for the appointment to remove braces. We come to get his braces off and his retainer was never made!! So now I need to make two trips back, one for the temporary retainer and again a week later for the actual retainer. I know a lot of people have been happy with their experience here, but that hasn't been the case for us.

I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Lakes Orthodontics. The entire staff was incredibly kind and knowledgeable throughout my whole treatment. Everything was explained clearly and efficiently, so I always knew what was happening and what to expect next. They were always available to answer my questions and made sure to explain things in a way that made sense to me as someone without any prior orthodontic knowledge. I’m beyond happy with my results. I would highly recommend Lakes Orthodontics to anyone looking for a great orthodontic experience!

We were in yesterday to have my daughter's braces put on. She was quite nervous so we were incredibly thankful for Vanessa's kindness and patience. She went above and beyond to make sure that my daughter felt comfortable.
