The Big Smile Orthodontics This was our first visit to this referred clinic with Dr. Jane, and I must say—they truly made my day. From the very first phone call to the end of my grandson Chase’s appointment, we both felt comfortable, welcomed, and genuinely valued. I was extremely impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the entire team. Everyone was so accommodating and took the time to explain each step of the process as Chase prepared to get his braces. That reassurance made all the difference for both of us. A special thank you to Dr. Jane, Susan, and Mindy for your patience, professionalism, and for truly listening to and understanding our needs as new patients. I also learned so much about the importance of early orthodontic treatment and how braces contribute to a healthy lifestyle—knowledge I truly appreciate. We are very much looking forward to being a part of “The Big Smile Family.” 😁🦷💙

I loved how clearly and realistically the orthodontic steps and financial expectations were given at the beginning. Staff were friendly, answering any questions or problems that came up during the course. When my daughter accidentally broke a wire or spacer, we were able to get a quick appointment to fix it, usually the same day. Getting braces probably isn't any teenager or parent's idea of a fun time, but the smooth process, friendly staff, and reasonable costs made it so much easier to handle.

I’m 7 months into my treatment and very happy with the attention and results so far. I recently had a dental issue that somewhat changed the original plan. Dr Jane reassessed my treatment plan and said I most likely won’t need the jaw surgery suggested in the original plan. I’m an older patient but would recommend Dr Jane and her entire team to anyone needing orthodontic care. They are great!!

We had another ortho consult appointment an hour before we went here—the difference was night and day. We walked into a warm space (the place we went prior is also in Livonia and one of the “big” names you hear but was cold and sterile). We noticed that they thought of the things that make the entire experience more enjoyable— there were video games for the kids to play while we waited, They had me fill out paperwork all online the day before so I wasn’t sitting there filling out paperwork in the lobby which was nice! They had my daughter’s name written on a sign to welcome her in the lobby, which felt extremely personal and she was very excited about. They then offered her a welcome gift of a blanket or a tote bag, which I thought was genius and instantly made her want to go to this place because of how welcomed she felt! Roxy was informative and kind (receptionists also!) We even noticed a sign in the treatment room with my daughter’s name as well—very nice touch that people notice! We loved Dr. Jane and her approach. The other ortho we saw earlier that day I felt had an aggressive treatment plan, very highly priced, and wasn’t fully able to answer all of my questions other than just saying, “this is the plan we need to do”. Dr. Jane had actually suggested To just do one round of braces and focus on an expander this first round Knowing she’s going to need braces when her adult teeth all come in, which to me makes the most sense— The previous place we visited wanted her to do two rounds of braces which I couldn’t quite wrap my head around why I would want to pay for that or put my child through braces twice. The pricing was fair and we left with smiles on our faces after popping into the selfie room (another nice touch!!) As an experience and service consultant— I noticed all of the little touches that really made us feel welcomed and comfortable here which is why we signed the paperwork to proceed at the consultation. She’s been snuggling her new blanket since we got home! Well done—-who knew an ortho consult would be the highlight of our day, especially when the first one we went to was not a great experience. So glad we got another opinion!

Dr. Jane and her staff are exceptional!!! We found out about them when my 6-year-old was organizing a bike-a-thon for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She was in the newspaper, so Dr. Jane's staff contacted us and said they wanted to donate a new bike to raffle off at the event and help my daughter raise more money. How incredibly thoughtful is that?! Two of her staff members actually came to the event. Keep in mind, we had no connection to them. The Big Smile Orthodontics staff was doing this out of the kindness of their hearts. Just the sweetest! Fast forward 5 years to when my daughter needed braces. Well, of course, we went to Dr. Jane. We were delighted to find that her office is incredibly well-run, with up-to-the-moment technology and knowledgeable, skilled, and friendly staff. I'm not sure what the woman's name is who greets everyone and checks them in, but she is absolutely the best! She knew my daughter's name within the first few appointments and would check her in before we even got to her desk. Not to mention, she is just the nicest person. Dr. Jane clearly knows how to hire well. My daughter recently "graduated" (meaning she doesn't have to come back unless she has a problem), and the whole front office team clapped for her and congratulated her. It was a nice way to end our time there. But I must say something about Dr. Jane. It's clear that she loves her job. She is very gentle and kind with each child. She wears funny socks that the kids love. She is just a class act. Not to mention, she works miracles on kids' teeth. I really cannot recommend The Big Smile Orthodontics and Dr. Jane enough. First class all the way!
