Family Dentistry at SouthWood

My biggest issue is the insurance and billing department. Despite paying my bills in-person and in full directly after all of my appointments, they still sent multiple statements for additional undisclosed charges. That too, it took them multiple years to switch me to the correct insurance plan, so my dad kept receiving these calls and statements despite not being the insurance owner. This was enough frustration to get me to finally switch dentists. The staff also seemed like they were constantly trying to get you to do additional unnecessary procedures, possibly to make a make more money. At my first few appointments, they constantly tried to get me to get some kind of preventative fillings/coatings for all of my teeth - all of which was unnecessary for my dental care. I had to be incredibly pushy in order to only get necessary procedures done. Also, the staff there are not particularly friendly in my experience.

I would not recommend this dentistry. It was OK before but now it just seems that they want money and if you don’t get their recommendations, they treat you differently. I did not have a good experience on my last visit.

I went in as a nervous and new patient and came out feeling amazing. The dental office staff is very professional and friendly and Aya my dental hygienist took very good care of me, she explained everything step by step and has such a caring, warm and kind personality. I highly recommend Family Dentistry for all your dental needs. The deep cleaning is what was recommended for me but I feel I will be in good hands for any of my dental needs and concerns in the future.

I’ve always had a great experience here. The office is clean, welcoming, and professional. My hygienist (Cameron) is very friendly, takes the time to explain everything while working on my teeth, and makes me feel comfortable throughout the appointment. I truly appreciate the excellent care and highly recommend this practice.

New patient here. My hygienist, Aya, was amazing. She did a wonderful job helping me feel calm, explaining the whole process, and answering my questions. My dentist was also very polite, though he was soft spoken and I did not catch his name.
