Here’s a more personal version you can use: ⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Paulette is absolutely amazing! She’s by far the best dental hygienist I’ve ever had. She’s so gentle and patient, and she always makes sure I’m comfortable during my cleaning. I really appreciate how she explains everything and gives helpful tips without making me feel rushed. You can tell she truly cares about her patients and takes pride in her work. My teeth always feel so clean after seeing her, and I actually look forward to my appointments now! Highly recommend Paulette to anyone who wants a hygienist who’s kind, professional, and genuinely caring. ⸻ Would you like me to make it a little shorter (for something like Google Reviews or Yelp)?
I am writing this review on behalf of my mother. I rarely leave reviews at all, and I’ve never felt compelled to leave a negative one until now. It’s rare for me to feel unsettled over something like this, but her experience raised serious concerns. As someone who has worked in dentistry for several years and fully believe in comprehensive and quality dental care, I have always monitored my family’s oral health. My mother has always been a routine prophylaxis patient, which is your “normal” cleaning. She has seen very qualified dentists and highly trained hygienists in the past that have always been very involved in her dental care with the best intentions of providing quality care for every patient. My mother booked a new patient appointment at Coast Dental because they were in-network with her insurance, however, at the end of her appointment, she was presented with a $3,000 treatment plan for a deep cleaning, also known as “SRP”, which means a patient requires numbing to remove tartar beneath the gums. I have seen several patients in my career with periodontal disease that absolutely needed SRP, so this was very odd to me because I know my mother’s dental history and this seemed pretty far off. After reviewing her x-rays and periodontal charting that was completed at her appointment, I saw adequate bone levels throughout, no subgingival tartar, and her periodontal measurements did not indicate the need for SRP. Just in case I wasn’t going crazy, I asked four trusted dental hygienists and one dentist with 20+ years of experience for their opinion. Each of them informed me that there was NO way they would have recommended anything farther than a normal routine prophylaxis cleaning. In all my years working in dentistry, this procedure “SRP” is typically a bit more expensive than your average cleaning, but should be no where near $3,000. I looked closer at my mother’s treatment plan, and I was very surprised to see $95 charges listed PER tooth for numbing, when local anesthetic is typically administered per quadrant for SRP, NOT per tooth. Also, it’s extremely strange to charge separately for anesthetic. I’ve never known any dental provider to do this. Additionally, tooth #20 was placed on her treatment plan, despite my mother not even having tooth #20. That’s a $95 charge right there to numb a tooth that isn’t even there. Beyond the treatment concerns I had on my mother’s behalf, she informed me that the office itself did not appear clean, particularly in areas visible to patients, such as the waiting room/restroom. HUGE red flag. If your dental office isn’t maintaining a clean area for you to sit while you wait on your appointment, I cannot imagine what the clinical part of the office looks like, especially in a practice where germs can be spread rapidly through aerosol particles. However, the most concerning part of her visit was that my mother never met any dentist face-to-face, which felt very impersonal and unprofessional. It’s very concerning the dentist did not look in her mouth for a comprehensive exam at her very first visit. It is very clear that the dentist is not involved in diagnosing, treatment planning, or establishing doctor/patient relationships. Patients deserve transparency, accurate diagnoses, and ethical treatment recommendations. After reading the reviews of this dental practice, I feel absolutely appalled that there were countless patients within the last several months that have had similar experiences. I’m grateful my mother asked for my opinion when something felt off after her visit, but my concern is for those who may move forward with thousands of dollars in treatment that may not be clinically necessary. I would strongly encourage you to seek out an office that holds much higher standards for their patients and to seek a second opinion if something feels off.
I don’t know how this place gets good reviews. My family has had our teeth cleaned all over the U.S. just fine. Here they won’t clean them unless we get a “special” cleaning that costs a pretty penny—hundreds or thousands of dollars. They sent photos for a referral that were NOT my teeth. Did the hygienist pretend she took photos of my teeth and attach someone else’s to my chart? She only took X-rays! So weird, suspicious, and unprofessional, which pretty much sums up my experience here. I’ve gotten random extra bills that don’t show exactly what they’re for. Look up the words “coast dental SCAM” in a search engine. Stay away!
Arrived on my appointment at the time scheduled. Receptionist was very helpful. Waited approximately 30 minutes and was called back. the xrays went well, and the doctor came in to explain what would be needed next.
I recently went and had all my teeth pulled. I have never been in so much pain while having extractions done. I should not have been in pain with the cost that they charged for the extractions. I feel that the dentist was incompetent in the ability to numb the area correctly. And not educated enough in the extraction process. Highly unsatisfied. Would not recommend.
