Main Street Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics of Cape Coral

For a children’s dentist they really don’t seem to enjoy working with kids. My daughter has been there twice and I wasn’t impressed either time. She had to have dental work done at a different office that was pretty traumatic for her a few months ago. Today we just went in for a cleaning and she was already scared and nervous. She’s 2 years old and kept sitting up in the chair to look around and the dentist was very rude and said, “she doesn’t have to be here”. So I won’t be taking her back. Both times we’ve been there they just seemed annoyed by her and other kids. The waiting room is dark and uninviting for children. We went here because it was close to home but it’s just not worth the unpleasant experience.

My son had a 9:00 a.m. appointment he's completely disabled wheelchair bound I filled out all the registration paperwork two nights prior submitted it I get to the office they tell me I have a pile of paperwork to fill out hand it to me and I said I already did it online the other night it took squite some time because of his medical history and they literally go through everybody system &history. I tell her I can't even see the paperwork number one the waiting room is dark and gloomy barely any lighting all the shades drawn you can't see so I go out to my car to try to fill it out couldn't see the small writing because my eyes are really bad and I told the girl at the desk that. Her response was oh it's much easier to do it on paper okay but I already did it and spent 40 minutes doing it online? Needless to say they didn't care that it's a process just to get him somewhere because he is in a wheelchair and has extensive medical needs office manager "Tom" was less than helpful , defensive yes, helpful no...they could have at least given me the option to do the paperwork and taken my son him as his appointment was at 9:00 a.m.. when I spoke to the office manager he said well you didn't say you wanted to do it at your leisure because I had mentioned if they had given me that option I actually could have sent my husband to get me a pair of glasses so I could see better. Very unprofessional when spoken to on the phone just didn't seem to care. I can tell you this I've been a nurse for 30 years wouldn't treat any of my patients families this way

My kids LOVE going to Main Street Children’s Dentistry (Cape Coral) my kids been patients for 10+ years. Dr. Hester and staff are so wonderful with kids. The atmosphere and care they provide to their patients is un replaceable. We 100% recommended this pediatric dentistry.

Main Street pediatric dentistry is the worst dentist I’ve been to for peds and from an adult dentistry perspective regarding scheduling and receptionist payments. This was the first time my child had been there. From a scheduling standpoint, They are over booked. It was the most rushed new appointment I’ve ever experienced from peds or adults. My child needs fillings and they couldn’t even book it until September (3 months out). When I asked, “is that the only dentist?” Their response was, “they don’t like when you switch dentists.” I should’ve said, “so they’d rather delay patient care over a preference that shouldn’t matter when they both have the same degree?” I didn’t. From a billing reception standpoint, my insurance covers 100%. They tried to tell me I owed $50 at check out. Proceeded to tell me that my insurance only covered $10 of the visit. Walked out. Called my insurance. Went back in the office with insurance on the phone. I informed them that insurance doesn’t see the claim but per the dentist name/tax ID and diagnosis code, the visit is 100% covered. The Hispanic female receptionist says, “we haven’t ran the claim yet.” She proceeds to hand the information to a different receptionist, an older white, short, bald male. I said, “so you guys are just charging people?” The male billing receptionist says, “no we aren’t and there’s no need to get snippy.” I said, “I’m not being snippy.” He says, “yes you are, you’re always snippy.” Again, this was the first time I’d ever been there and my insurance was still on the phone with me. As the male receptionist hands the female receptionist the paperwork, she tells me, “we got it you don’t owe anything.” Not once did either of them attempt to apologize. The male billing receptionist attempting to make me seem like I had no right to question their falsely charging and make me seem like my response to it made me the problem in the situation and act like he’d had an encounter with me like that before is the reason I’d never go back or recommend them.

Dr.Jordan Hester is the best! Hands down. He is so good with children. He has a soft, calming voice and tells jokes for distraction. He directs his conversations with the child and explains everything that he is doing. My kids LOVE going there for checkups. I couldn’t ask for a better dentist!
