Noe Valley Smiles and Braces

Dr. Uritani has is very patient, listens to my concerns, and knows how to make my daughter feel comfortable even when she was unable to keep her mouth open for more than 5 minutes. Dr. Uritani does so well with young kids. She explains and shows her what she what is about to do, and then the best part is when she pretends to paint her favorite cartoon character on her teeth so that my daughter will keep her mouth open for the fillings. I would recommend Dr. Uritani to anyone looking for a patient experienced dentist who does a GREAT with children. She's simply the best!!

Staff and providers are very professional. Both my boys are always looking forward to their visits. They have such a good experience that they don't have fears with their dental procedures. Front office staff are knowledgeable and accommodating. They provide clear communication and transparency.

I really enjoyed coming to this location and am sad to see they will no longer be serving adults. Dr. Jafari (Dr J) is friendly, professional and has excellent recommendations for how to care for my teeth and gums. Karen is the best hygienist I've ever worked with and does a great, quick job. The whole team there is great really so if they treat their adults well I feel confident they would with children too. I'd send my kid there! If you guys ever do decide to serve adults again drop me a line!

After 13 years as loyal patients, we were dropped from NVS&B simply for asking a question. That’s right—because we questioned a vague “protocol,” we were told our family was no longer welcome. We started taking our two children to NVS&B over 13 years ago and stayed with them when it came time for our daughter to get braces. After her initial orthodontic consultation, we were ready to move forward. But when we called to schedule the braces appointment, we were told she needed another consultation—because her last one was over a year ago. We had missed the 12-month cut-off by just 4 weeks. When I asked why the 12-month policy was so rigid, I was told it was “protocol.” I asked what could possibly have changed with our daughter’s teeth in those 4 weeks that justified another appointment, but no one could answer. I asked if we had called a month earlier, would this have been avoided? Again—no answer. Instead of getting clarity, we were met with evasiveness, shifting explanations, and emails from unnamed staff. Their final message added a new hurdle: our daughter now needed a dental check-up before she could get braces—something never mentioned before. I am assuming their practice must be turning away patients because they seemed unfazed by losing our family's business.

Dr. Jafari and his team are great! Extremely friendly and always try to make sure you're comfortable. I had a few fillings put in today and it's the first time I've ever had a dentist check-in with me in the middle of the procedure to make sure I was still doing ok.
