Monarch Dental & Orthodontics - Salt Lake City, UT

I came here because it’s what my insurance accepted. Initially I went in for a tooth extraction and for some reason they told me I needed a filling on my bottom Molar that wasn’t bothering me. But I agreed to it anyway. That wasn’t very smart because my extraction healed perfectly fine and my filling didn’t. It was so sensitive everytime I bit down on it. I called back to the office to see the Dentist but they said it was normal to have sensitivity. So I left it. I started a new job and moved away so I couldn’t get it taken care of. Fast forward to now it needs a Root Canal because it’s infected. I wish I never got the filling in the first place because it wasn’t bothering me. Lesson learned don’t agree to have work done if you’re teeth are fine. Now I’m awaiting a Root Canal. I will update my review to see how it goes.

I’m so happy I found Monarch. I have a ton of dental anxiety and recently encountered some repeated sharp pain in a tooth I had a filling on. I checked my mouth to see the filling was missing and booked an appointment straight away. I showed up to my appointment trying not to freak out, but I didn’t need to try too hard - The staff was so kind and walked me through every step of the process. Additionally, the dental hygienist was exceptionally talented. After expressing how anxious the “measuring” process makes me, she made sure to make it as quick and painless as possible. She was kind and encouraging even tho my gum health was less than ideal. I left feeling safe comfortable. Also - the office has great views! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this spot to anyone.

I won’t claim that this dental clinic is the best in Salt Lake City, but I can confidently say that in my personal experience, they’ve treated me exceptionally well. I’m thoroughly satisfied with the results I’ve achieved so far, and their prices are reasonable while maintaining high quality. I’ve had my braces placed with them and am almost finished with the process. I highly recommend giving them a try.

I strongly encourage you to find business somewhere else. I have been here for 3 appts now and have never had a good experience. At my first appointment, the dentist was very rude and unwelcoming which made me feel like a burden. He also gave me a lot of conflicting information when it came down to my wisdom teeth. The hygienist who was an older lady told me “I’m not going to floss your teeth because me doing it once every six months isn’t going to do anything” to me that comment is rude also not normal practice. I will admit I may not floss my teeth every night but I do floss more regularly than the average person. Also, for my entire life when getting those regular cleanings, they always floss…so sounded like laziness to me. And again for my third appointment my appointment was at 7am they didn’t even have the door opened until 7:10am. Not sure why the front desk person is the only person with a key to open the door, but that was extremely unprofessional for a business. And to also hear the employees whispering to one another when I spoke my mind about how unprofessional that experience was. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and gave them a shot for 3 appointments, but I will be taking my business somewhere else. The younger hygienist on the other hand was completely lovely and bubbly and so caring. But she is their only redeeming quality.

Do not go here for dentures. If you are someone who struggled with addiction in your past, and you’re doing your best to turn your life around, and you’re trying to improve yourself, save up the money for something better. It has taken me six months to get my top and bottom partial. The top has been crooked the whole time because the mold was done incorrectly. The bottom partial did not make contact on the right side and was digging into my gums. I waited a whole month for them to send it to Florida and back and it’s still not functional. Do not go here for dentures!
