I had an 8:30 AM cleaning appointment at City Creek Dental and arrived on time. I wasnt taken back until about 9:00. I did not complain or mention the wait. Delays happen and that was not my concern. Once seated, the hygienist did not begin by examining my teeth. Instead, she reviewed my file and immediately began criticizing me because it had been 10 months since my last cleaning. I explained that my normal 6 month appointment had to be rescheduled, which pushed the visit to about 9 months at this office. Despite that, she repeatedly told me this was unfair to her and asked multiple times how I was going to change. After X rays, she finally began looking at my teeth and lightly scraping for an initial examination, not a full cleaning, while audibly complaining and expressing frustration about the time between visits. She then stopped the exam and again pressed me for answers about how I would do better in the future, repeating the question multiple times. At that point the appointment felt less like a dental visit and more like being reprimanded. I came in for a routine cleaning and evaluation, not to be lectured or pressured for commitments unrelated to treatment. I take care of my teeth and came in for maintenance. The tone throughout the visit was confrontational and unprofessional, and I ultimately chose to end the appointment and leave before the cleaning was completed. I quietly walked out to my truck, but quickly decided I needed to turn around and let them know what they were doing was wrong I spoke to the dentist. He talked at me at first about His clueless understandings of how his unqualified employee handled things You know shrouding her in the blanket of protection. This only brought out my FURY with a pinch of RAGE. This place is a joke! Patients should feel respected and supported during a dental visit. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect that standard. Garrett Hazel
After 20 years as a client, never missed my scheduled appointment, they cancelled my appointment because I did not respond to their phone call or text within 4 hours, to reschedule an appointment with their hygienst takes 6-9 months, I felt undervalued after 20 years, I always made my appointments, and was pleasant with all staff members when I went into their office, I feel bad my appointment was canceled over 4 hours I had left my phone home, I liked Dr. Bye and Dr. lamborne, however getting into a hygienst in their office is to hard. And feeling undervalued after 20 years it's time to move on.
