Texas Orthodontic Specialists Kirby - Orthodontist in Houston TX

All 3 of my daughters went through here for braces. They did a great job and we will actually miss our visits. The staff is wonderful. My only complaint is that they stopped taking our dental insurance (delta dental). We will miss them for their dental and orthodontic services.

I do not recommend Texas Orthodontic Specialists. Although three orthodontists are listed, Dr. Chen is almost always the only doctor at the Kirby location. In my experience, Dr. Chen felt very transactional and did not care to take patient concerns seriously. Unfortunately, I now have to spend additional money to correct mistakes made during my treatment. I will say that their scheduling staff (over the phone, not the front desk) and Dr. McCarty were wonderful to work with. However, my overall experience was disappointing, and I strongly suggest seeking care from a different orthodontist.

We love coming here a few friends recommend us Dr. McCarty and Dr. Chen. We had an unpleasant experience somewhere else unfortunately, but when my son started his treatment more than a year ago we couldn’t ask for a better place for both of my kids. We are very happy with Texas Orthodontic, thank you to all their wonderful staff too!

The staff and doctors are amazing! My son is autistic and they had no issues at all with his quirks. They explained everything really well and made my son very comfortable and even excited about braces. It went better than I could have ever expected. Thank you!

UPDATE: AND the permanent retainer was installed incorrectly leading to my teeth shifting and me now having to go into invisalign to close the space that opened up. RUN! to I came in to fix a permanent retainer that had come loose. When I called and explained what I needed I was told that I would need to have a consultation and would be charged $100 for this (although the website says consultations are free) and an additional charge to 'fix' the retainer which was estimated at $50. Although the consult fee seemed excessive $150 in total felt fine. However, after the visit I was told my total was $250 and that it was $50 per glue pad. So $50 each place where they put glue. Now $250 to re-glue my existing retainer did seem excessive. When I explained that the was not what I was quoted (information that was voluntarily given to me before I could even ask for it) the lady at the desk barely responded. No apology, no sorry for the confusion, no acknowledgment of the discrepancy or my dissatisfaction which could have gone a long way when someone is being charged $100 more than the expected. Overall, while I enjoyed the orthodontist and ortho assistant the front desk service left a negative taste in my mouth and I likely wont return or recommend them. I also arrived thirty minutes early only to be given required paperwork after waiting for thirty minutes and then told I would be called to the back after completing the paperwork as if I was the hold up :/.
