We've had both kids go there...they are the most professional dental or medical practice I have ever seen and they always think of the kids first. The hygienists are superb and Dr. Thacker is a TRUE gem...they do not make them like him anymore...his interest and care with each child is remarkable. This is best decision we made when it came to dental and ortho care for our family and you won't be disappointed. Just the best in the business.

Thacker Orthodontics is wonderful. They have great hours and the staff is always friendly, helpful and professional. We really appreciate his conservative approach to treatment. He followed the kids progression for years before the braces were applied. Our kids were never rushed into braces. Other than adding a new face(s), he has had the same staff since we started seeing him almost 10 years ago. That is a sign of a good work environment. I highly recommend Dr. Thacker.

We had 2 kids go through braces with DrThacker. He and his daughter who is also Dr T were amazing. Totally kid friendly, kind and a totally wonderful outcome for both of my kids!! I tell all my friends to shop no more and just go here. My kids felt very well cared for and it was a great experience all around. Also, the dentist just told me their teeth are perfect. (And both my kids had functional issues versus cosmetic). Win/win! Thank you Drs Thacker!!!

We're not patients, but while visiting family in Cincinnati my son had a problem with his braces. I was very impressed by how helpful the receptionist and doctor were when I called to ask if I could bring him in to get it fixed. They offered to see him, but gave us enough advice that I was able to decide the issue could wait until we get home to Canada. Very professional and friendly.

I don't write reviews often. I have 3 boys. My oldest already had 1 set of braces and I was told he's going to need oral surgery to have 2 adult teeth pulled in as they were not dropping, then 2 more sets of braces. Our middle boy was going to need 6 baby teeth pulled. I called to ask why we're having so many procedures done which are not natural - I'm being advised by others in the industry that pulling baby teeth should not be a common thing. Dr. Thacker was not happy that I requested this conversation and made it clear that he and his team "put a lot of research and thought" into his recommendations. I told him I was going to get a second opinion and he made sure to tell me that this is exactly what he was teaching at UK. I requested all records be sent over to a new ortho and also asked the billing admin if the quote I received included insurance adjustment. I was told I'd have to call my insurance to find out. New ortho looked at old x-rays and had to take new ones. Although Dr. Thacker had taken xrays in Nov/Dec of 2021, those were NOT sent to the new Ortho. The only ones sent were from 2019. New orotho shared that there is NO NEED for surgery as the teeth had started to drop significantly and were in great shape. Additionally, my second son only NEEDS to have 2 teeth pulled, not 6. The other 4 should be fine to come out on their own. I've called the office to give this feedback and welcomed a phone call to discuss what could have happened here. I never received a call back and at this point want people to beware of what service they're getting. This over-aggressive approach appears to be more about making money than the actual health of the patient. My business is moving elsewhere.
