Dr. Shamik S. Vakil, DDS, MS
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Shamik S. Vakil, also called Dr. V, was born in Houston, TX and grew up in Cleveland, TN where he graduated from Cleveland High School. Dr. V went to college at Samford University where he completed dual undergraduate degrees, earning a bachelor's degree in biology and in political science. He then served on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC and abroad as a Congressional Fellow working with the International Foundation. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While completing a two-year post-doctoral residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Dentistry, he also earned a Specialty Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and a Master of Science (MS). His residency training gave him the opportunity to gain additional skills in pediatric medicine, sedation, anesthesia, orthodontics, and behavior management. Outside of the office, Dr. V enjoys traveling, scuba diving, hiking, concerts, cooking, and is an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast! He is also a proud supporter of all Charlotte sports teams, especially the Carolina Panthers!

The dental hygienist gets 10 gold stars! She was lNCREDIBLE & does so well with kids! Really she was 90% of the interaction. She praised my 4 year old son and said he did great, he was nice and calm the whole time and gave no trouble at all. He just sat still and let her do her thing. Then the dentist came in and the hygienist expressed how well my son did. The dentist then takes a few seconds to look in my son's mouth with the mirror and then proceeds to talk to us about everything. Somehow with the few seconds she looked around my son's mouth she determined my son's temperament couldn't handle the work needing to be done without general anesthesia. She spoke about him while side eyeing him and it was incredibly frustrating. I felt very disrespectful and rude. Ultimately she did leave it up to us but she put it in a way that made it seem like if we tried without general anesthesia that she would likely have to stop the procedure shortly through and we would still be responsible for paying for the nitrous and anything else that was used even though the procedure wasn't complete. It could have been a far better experience if the dentist took so bed side manner lessons from the hygienist. Thanks for reading my frustrated mama review 😆

Great pediatric dental clinic! The staff were friendly, patient, and excellent with my daughter . Nurse (Kimberly ) did nice job carefully cleaning my daughters teeth.The Dr Williams explained everything clearly and made my child feel comfortable. Clean, kid-friendly office and minimal wait time. Highly recommend!

The environment is clean and welcoming. Customer service is great, cheerful and pleasant faces make the experience more enjoyable. Provider (Dr. Wiggins) Awesome! Can I say, they know how to ease your baby into cooperating with treatment/care. Thank you 😁 see y’all soon.

10/10 would recommend! I was so nervous to bring my 2 month old in for a tongue tie consult. However this team made me feel comfortable, explained everything as they went, loved on my baby and spent the time to discuss other options before cutting. They were ready to help and definitely did! Atmosphere was also a 10/10 as well as the receptionists at the front! Big thanks to Dr. Wiggins, Erika and Anita! Mama’s bring your babies here! You won’t be disappointed and I bet your kids will love the dentist!
