My son is autistic. Half way through his orthodontic treatment, they said he had to have a tooth pulled. We spent months trying to get someone to pull the tooth (we had to find someone ourselves as they did NOT refer us to anyone and he has Medicaid. Most places we called were no longer accepting new patients with Medicaid and the only ones that did were booked out months). After several months, we finally found someone who could pull the tooth but we'd have to wait a few more months for their first appointment. This took 8 months total. One day my son gets a letter in the mail from My Orthodontist stating that they are ceasing his orthodontic treatment because they apparently left him a few voicemails over the many months we were working on things on our end. My son is autistic and things like checking voicemails don't tend to happen with him. He's doing the best he can!!! They have both my number and my husbands, but they never called us - only my son. The second we received their letter we called and spoke with the office. (Why didn't they send a letter months earlier???). Anyway, we explained the circumstance and they said the office manager would have to speak with our son directly (he's a legal adult). He called and left her messages MULTIPLE times and she NEVER returned his calls. Finally, on his third attempt, the front desk said the office manager told them to tell us there's nothing that they will change, they have decided to stop treatment and they will only offer to remove the braces, nothing more. She never even spoke with him! And they completely disregarded the circumstances that led to this. We are BEYOND disgusted by this treatment and the awful place this has left this poor kid in. He is a neurodivergent young man who's only crime was not checking voicemails! We are in complete disbelief that they are leaving him in the lurch like this despite his circumstance, one that he cannot help. Infuriating! He's crushed and has gone through all of this for nothing. Please, parents, take your children ANYWHERE but here. There is a large population of young adults with autism and they deserve better than this. (Note: We've been advised to reach out to the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners and file a complaint. If you have an issue, please do the same. We can't have this kind of stuff happening to more kids.)

I’ve had two kids to go here and overall we have been satisfied. I wish that the orthodontist would make himself/herself available to parents with concerns. Today we had an appt at 8:30 and we arrived at 8:25 and they were in a meeting. I get it, however, you have pt’s that are scheduled and no one at the front desk to check them in. At 8:30 I open the door to the back office and you tell me you are in a meeting. That is not acceptable! When you finally come to the front you have a line and you open your window to go back and forth with me when YOU are in the wrong! This is not how you treat people who are paying for a service and have an appointment with you. You charge a cancellation/no show fee and what do you expect from pts that show up on time? You should expect us to expect to be checking in on time. You’re welcome.

I was made sign a form thatI should be at the office 10 mins before my app which upset me as the office called 2 days ago trying to move up my appointment and I said i would accomodate. I was 14 mins late and was told that they dont have a curtesy period that i needed to be early. I pointed out that i allways have to wait so I didnt think it would be a problem. I left feeling that on this occasion i was doing the team a favor and normally being 10 mins late would not matter and even after explaining all that i was made sign a form. It seem the customer is never right so really is there even a point to reaponding to this survey as I dint really believe you want my opinion and it doesnt matter. Sorry for being honest

I had a very disappointing experience at this location and would not recommend it. The manager was unapproachable and seemed to only listen to the nurses, not the patients. One nurse, in particular, behaved arrogantly, looking at people as if she owned the place. During my appointment, the nurse responsible for my dental care mentioned she had to wait a few minutes for the doctor to arrive, which I understood. While I was on a call with friends and speaking loudly but without profanity, another nurse suddenly yelled at me to stop cussing, despite there being children present and no offensive language used. Instead of addressing me privately, she shouted in front of everyone. When the manager arrived, she deemed my behavior unacceptable without hearing my side of the story and then checked on the nurse in front of me. Another nurse who witnessed the situation confirmed that I was not at fault, especially since I was quiet and respectful during the actual dental work. This was the most disrespectful treatment I have ever experienced, and the nurse who yelled at me did not even provide my care but continued to stare at me condescendingly. Overall, it was a very negative experience, and I would not recommend this place due to the rude staff.

After checking in we only had wait a few minutes before we were called back and Elliott went with the dental tech and got his scan and we were done. He loved it. The staff was very easy going and kind to him.
