Orthodontists Associates of Western New York

I went in for a consultation after I was told I would need x-rays to tell me exactly what I would need to have done, before getting the x-rays I was told I would have to pay a $280 fee. If I did not continue on with the services. my third visit there I was explained all of the work that would need to be done to get braces. I felt a be overwhelmed I was first told I could think about it then reminded that I have a fee. So basically decided NOW. I’m an adult the work I was told I needed was a bit much. And pricey, on top of taking my insurance. I’m going to get a second opinion. I don’t think I’m returning here.

Great Orthodontist! My teeth we absolutely awful when I first stepped into this facility and now they are just amazing! Dr. Hietanen ever visit would explain exactly what was going to happen in detail before any work was done so I was in the know the entire process. He would spend a good amount of time to make sure I understood what was supposed to happen. All of the staff are friendly! And before you leave from one appointment they will always ask if anything is poking your mouth that could cause unnecessary pain. While the process was long it is so nice to see what great work they do here in the end! This is where you should go to get your teeth fixed!

Dr Irene was great. When she retired the new orthodontists were fairly nice and adjustment was smooth. But Dr Hietanen turned out to be a chauvinist and felt patients do not have the right to make informed decisions if they do not align with what he wants them to do. The other doctors are great and were willing to discuss and respect a declination of surgery, but unless you can guarantee not to get stuck seeing him as well, I wouldn't recommend this office to a friend or neighbor.

Everyone at this office is very friendly and professional. My daughter recently started treatment here, and I was impressed so I went to see Dr. Hietanen myself about some jaw issues I've been having. He spent quite a bit of time with me, and is very knowledgeable. He also has a range of diagnostic tools that he uses before making any treatment recommendation. Between 5 kids, we've had insurance changes & a move, so we've seen several orthodontists over the years. None have ever tried to look for the underlying cause of alignment issues like Dr. Hietanen has. Highly recommend!

My family has always had a very positive experience at Orthodontists Associates of WNY. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and works very efficiently. They are very conscientious of their patients time and provide excellent state of the art services. My three children have had orthodontic work done and we couldn’t be happier with the results.
