Oak Bark Dental

Oak bark dental in my opinion has to be the best dental office in the Lansing/ East Lansing area! I went in for a cleaning and the front office staff are always helpful and super friendly. I had my teeth cleaned by Dawn and she was very gentle but thorough. You also do not have to wait weeks just to be seen like most places. I will always stay with oak bark

I once had an appointment at this office as a new patient, and got a simple chip on a filling fixed. Later on, received the bill and it seemed high. I called my insurance and they said it was billed a certain way which makes the charge more, and to call the dental office and have them "recode" it. Okay, simple enough right? I called the dental office and the receptionist said she will have Dr Palmer look at it when she gets time that day... Ok, fair enough, I said thank you. I call back 2 days later because no one ever called me back, and the receptionists acted like I was bothering her. She said Dr Palmer will look at it today. Receptionist called back half hour later and said everything was billed correctly, and they wont change anything. So, what I am assuming happened was it was never looked at in the 2 days, and then after I called back, they just didnt want to do the work at looking at it. Who knows if Dr P ever even got the info from the original call. I wasnt about to spend any more time with this issue so I just told her that we will pay it and then to remove myself, my wife (who was a patient for 5 years before we married), and our family from the practice. She couldnt have cared less. lol Yeah, pass!

In the spring of 2024 my 3yr old was diagnosed with sleep apnea after doing a sleep study. I knew having his tonsils and adnoids removed would be a temporary fix, but not solve the root cause/problem long term. We sought out different opinions, some offering us solutions that would cost upwards to $3k, but none that we felt confident about. In a last ditch effort to find a solution for my son that we felt good about, I shot off an email to Oak Bark explaining our situation. They were quick to respond & there shortly after arrangements were made for a consultation that we traveled 1.5hrs for. Ultimately it was decided that my son needed a frenectomy & it has been the best decision we could have made. Oak Bark has a very well rounded approach to doing these types of procedures, which entails in house myo functional therapy before and after. They’ve been so good with my son at the myo therapy appointments, making all the exercises fun & engaging. My son does not seem to have any fear or trauma from the procedure & I think that is a testament to how wonderful everyone was with him during the process. Our experience at Oak Bark has been phenomenal, from the front office staff all the way up to Dr. Palmer and everyone in between, I can’t say enough good things. I am forever grateful to have stumbled upon their office during an, air way dentistry google search and will be recommending their office to friends.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Palmers since 2019. I recently changed dentists since I moved out of Lansing, but I was so sad to have to leave this office. Dr. Palmer is an expert in her field and so caring and understanding of your wants and needs. She was able to make everything I wanted for my smile come to life! Dr. Palmer was able to create the best crown I’ve ever had and match the color and shape/size absolutely perfectly. I also got Invisalign through the office and they were very transparent with the price and discussed financing options with me. All the assistants and hygienists I had were also so kind and made me feel welcomed. The front desk staff were always very welcoming every time I came in. I can’t thank this office enough and if I ever find myself back in Lansing I will become a patient again!

Dr. Palmer and her staff are fantastic. The front desk, hygienists, other specialists they have, and Dr. Palmer are all super welcoming and take the time to ensure you are happy with the service and understand what is happening with everything from billing to the procedures. They were fantastic with my baby when they got their tongue tie laser cut, and I love that they have the technology to make crowns on-site so you don't have to make multiple appointments and have a cap put on. We were very sad to have moved out of state away from them and wish we could have taken them with us!
