A great experience all around! Dr. Novosel and Maritza took great care of me during my most recent appointment for fillings. Everything was explained clearly and I felt like I was involved in the treatment process the entire time. I am very excited to have found a new dentist in Dr. Novosel and can’t wait to return for my cleaning in a few months.

My experience at Brushery started off promising, but ultimately fell short of my expectations. The office is beautiful and the staff is very nice. I also appreciated the minimal wait times. Unfortunately, after a year of going there, I’m pretty disappointed with my Invisalign results and the experience I had regarding scheduling my teeth whitening appointment. My main reason for seeking treatment was to fix my bite, not crooked teeth. I was very clear about this from the beginning and even asked if braces might be a better option, but I was assured Invisalign would work and do so quickly. After completing treatment, my bite is still not fully corrected - my back teeth don’t touch properly, and my front teeth aren’t well aligned. After doing more research, I’ve learned that bite correction with Invisalign often requires rubber bands, which was never discussed or offered in my case. It seems like even braces would've been a better option. Looking back, I wish I had gone directly to an orthodontist, as I now feel my case may have been too complex and better suited for a specialist. I’d caution anyone whose main concern is bite correction to strongly consider seeing an orthodontist rather than a general dentist for Invisalign. Spending $5,000 on Invisalign was a significant financial commitment for me. I put my trust in the team and unfortunately they did not deliver. Another frustration was my experience with the coordinator who handles insurance related inquiries. My employer insurance covers 50% of teeth whitening (which is a generous but rare perk), but when I discussed it with them, they didn't seem to want to prioritize it. I'm not sure if it was because it was December and everyone was using their benefits, but I raised this several times throughout the year, so we could've gotten this scheduled in advance. Wish we had more time, but my Invisalign treatment completed at the end of the year. Overall, getting clear confirmation from the office was really difficult. I had to follow up multiple times and never got a clear resolution despite being told it would be looked into. I kept calling and following up myself only to be told the insurance coordinator was not available. Eventually, the year ended so I wasn't able to use that perk. I would have expected better communication and follow-through. Overall, my routine cleanings and visits were pleasant, and the staff is friendly. However, the final results and service issues were disappointing enough that I won’t be returning. I’d recommend Brushery for cleanings and basic dental care, but for more complex orthodontic needs, I’d suggest looking elsewhere. Wishing them the best though.

My experience with Brushery has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Throughout my time as a patient, they repeatedly told me they would call back and never did. They also delayed sending medical documentation that my job needed for my leave/short-term disability, which affected my pay. At one point I requested a liability note and was told it could be provided. It was never sent until I called again the next day. When I followed up, I was given the runaround and eventually received it only after a very unpleasant phone interaction where the staff member was rude, condescending, and dismissive. I remained polite throughout the conversation. I also had an appointment scheduled after missing two previous ones due to illness. I was told this would not be an issue and that my appointment would remain scheduled. However, after an entire week passed, they canceled my appointment the day before it was supposed to occur after I had already taken time off work. I only found out because I called them myself, and while I was on the phone they sent an email confirming the cancellation. When I asked to speak with the person in charge, Dr. Nye, I felt completely dismissed. The explanation given later was that I had missed appointments, even though I had previously been told my illness would not affect my ability to continue treatment. After being dismissed as a patient, I was told that my medical records and documentation would be sent to my employer and to whichever dentist I chose for continued treatment. It has now been over a month, and my employer, my original dentist, and I still have not received the records or documentation needed for my leave and ongoing care. When I called again recently to request my bill and medical records, I experienced more interruptions, dismissive communication, and was told Dr. Nye and Dr. Novusel were unavailable. I was even told at one point that because I had been dismissed as a patient, I could not receive my records, which is concerning. After being placed on hold and told someone would call me back (which has never happened in the past), I insisted on receiving the documents by email. I was eventually sent only a copy of my bill with a note saying my records would be sent in a separate email. As of now, I still have not received them. The ongoing lack of communication, delays in documentation, and dismissive interactions have made an already stressful medical situation even more difficult with my Awful experience of untrustworthy front desk staff, dismissive/cold Dentists and Owner. The office looks nice, but that was about the only positive part of my experience at Brushery. For an Office Manager and Assistant Office Manager Dina and Emma gave me a lot of misinformation, uncertainty, and disrespect. So based on how everything was handled, I wish I had chosen a different dentist with better staff. 0/10 Update: I was told my medical records would be sent in a separate email that same day, but they never were. I called twice before the office closed to remind them and got no answer or callback. Two days later I called again and finally reached Dima. After being asked to repeat myself multiple times and being placed on hold, she sent my records and old X-rays while I was still on the phone. Again, I had to call again and request my newest X-Rays because they were not included in the email. During the call I was placed on hold for 4 minutes then hung up on. As of today (3/9/26) I am still waiting and my visit with them was 1/27/26. Something this simple shouldn’t require multiple calls and days of waiting. Before deciding to go to this dentist I did not consider what I look like, how I expect staff to do their job and treat me/my time with respect. My regret for choosing Brushery still stands. Again 0/10.

If you are African American stay away. If you need treatment I highly recommend getting an insurance estimate beforehand. Everything started out just great. I had my annual check up, x-ray, cleaning. I was giving a treatment plan. I was told I needed a filling on my back tooth apparently the tooth was decayed very badly but I was not experiencing any concerns prior. They replaced my filling and that's when the problem started with sensitive to cold. I returned for the 2nd time with trying to repair the filling. They mentioned a possible root canal. I went back the 3rd time and so now I need a crown to actually fix the problem. When I went back the 3rd time apparently it was only to evaluate the problem 🤔and giving another appointment to redue the same filling and told I need a crown. I also need a crown on a totally different tooth and was given a treatment plan with my cost. It's much higher than what they are supposed to charge within the insurance network. I wouldnt have known about this if I didn't call my insurance carrier. I can't afford their fees for a crown or root canal.

Brushery is located in a prime location of downtown Detroit/Midtown, with state of the art equipment. Brushery operates like a well oiled machine. The office is large, well lit & clean. The waiting room is welcoming with coffee & other cool refreshments. The staff are equipped with discrete headphones to speak to each. This lets the back know patients are on their way to the back and vice versa. I’ve never experienced this anywhere else. All of the staff were alert, kind & engaging. The dentist, Dr Nye was a breath of fresh air. Relocating here from Chicago. He was informative, explaining every step of the way. He was politely transparent and caring. I appreciate the entire experience. Looking forward to a long relationship. Thank you
