I came in for apt twice. First time I called and said I was running late, I was seen bit the work wasn’t done. They offered to do some of it but finish the next day and charge me extra. Second time I was 10 min late at 8 am on Monday because there was traffic, I was asked to reschedule. I am new to the area with a young child, I was only getting a temporary crown at the time, nothing major. Terrible, terrible, terrible service. Don’t book your patients so greedy tight that you have not even 15 min buffer.
This place is nicely set up and if you’re getting work done, you have the privacy of your own room. The hygienists and the office clerks were all extremely kind. They also had great taste in music. This was important to me because I hadn’t been to a dentist in over 20 years, and I was scared about the state of my teeth (they’re in pretty bad shape and it is totally my fault😩). I went here because I had cracked a tooth and was experiencing pain in my jaw and several teeth. Again, all the hygienists and clerks were so kind to me, and didn’t outwardly judge me. I did end up getting a cleaning here after my x-rays. They were super flexible because I have dental anxiety and they rescheduled my appointment for me, so I could be calmer when I came the next day for a cleaning. The hygienist was super gentle on my teeth and a very calming person. (I was not!) she told me at the end of the cleaning that I had a lot of cavities that needed treatment. My one and only critique has to do with the overall outcome and the dentist’s treatment. The dentist could not treat me for what needed to be done and referred me to a prosthetologist who has iv sedation options, due to my anxiety. The referral form didn’t have a name, doctor, or company recommendation, just a general one. What’s a person who hasn’t gone to the dentist in 20 years going to do with that? I was confused and I felt that I could have been better educated on next steps to take. Maybe this is on me because I didn’t ask more questions at the time. I didn’t see the dentist the next day when I got my cleaning and didn’t ask anymore about the referral. I called the only prosthetologist on my insurance plan, and they didn’t do sedation. I called prosthetologists outside of my insurance plan, and no one seemed to do sedation, so I was more at a loss of what to do. Furthermore, the dentist asked if I had done drugs during our evaluation, and this was the only time I felt scrutiny. (I haven’t done drugs, just have a gnarly sugar addiction and didn’t take care of my teeth.) The last two dentists that I’ve seen did not ask me at all about drug use except on the medical form, which I appreciated more. I ended up going to a dental walk in clinic in Largo, and the dentist there took the time to educate me on options to have a tooth extracted by a surgeon or to have a root canal done by an endodontist and then have a crown placed by a general dentist or prosthetologist. They recommended a specific endodontist for a root canal and a specific surgical place to have it extracted which helps someone like me out, who has no idea how the dentist works and what each specialist does. I wish that this dentist offered more specific referrals like the dental walk in clinic. One last thing is that the dental walk in clinic also gave me a prescription for antibiotics because I had an infection. I feel that when I was at this dentist, I also had an infection because of the pain I was experiencing in my teeth and jaw. I think perhaps the dentist didn’t take note of this or ask about it after I had described the pain in my jaw, and the infection could have been resolved sooner, rather than me living with this pain for almost a month. After taking a round of antibiotics, my jaw and teeth felt much better. I would definitely go back here for cleanings, fillings, and other routine care, but I don’t think I’d recommend this place for dental emergencies or more serious issues like cracked teeth or tooth pain. I think this dentist is more just for simple, routine care. Anyway, let this be a lesson to anyone still reading: don’t put off going to the dentist, even if you have anxiety. They’re just there to help you out.
They never answer the phone. Never. I called 4 times yesterday. How do you run a business like that? The dentist is very nice, knowledgeable and very honest and up front. The problem is the receptionist and the phone system they have. The receptionist has a big attitude problem. She isn’t nice to clients. She told me on the phone she left me a voicemail with a nasty snappy attitude that she returned my call. You don’t speak to people that way. Back in December the week before Christmas I called them and it took 10 DAYS for them to call me back. Ridiculous. Very poor customer service by the receptionist. The dentist and her medical staff I give high scores. I worked in customer service for 30 years. You don’t speak to customers like that. When I just called to cancel my future appointments, the receptionist said WITH PLEASURE and hung up on me. WOW.
The staff here is awesome and easy to work with, especially scheduling. Marianne is the best hygienist that I've ever worked with.
Dr k and Jadyn did an amazing job with my son helping him push through his first cavity filling thanks so much well see you soon for our next visit 😀 😊
