UF Health Resident Orthodontics

The staffing is amazing they help reinsure my son who has cerebral palsy and had anxiety about his appointment they joked around with his talked about thinks he liked and claimed his nerves!!! The doctors are nice. It’s always clean and the receptionists are always nice and friendly especially Joslin, John and Tika!! If I could get them more stars I definitely would. They have become like family with us.

This was my first visit after moving from another state, and I came based on a referral for my teenager’s dental care. Immediately upon entering, the facility felt chaotic and poorly managed. The waiting room was overcrowded, and the procedure area had students scattered everywhere with no visible organization. What shocked me most was the level of unprofessionalism. In my opinion, UF Shands and it's affiliates has always been associated with excellence, so I did not expect to encounter a lead orthodontist who was rigid, dismissive, and condescending. While I am not speaking about the entire staff /students, the behavior of this particular provider was unacceptable—especially for someone responsible for training future professionals. Students learn from the examples set before them, and this was not a model of ethical or compassionate care. The reception area was equally concerning, with only one person seemingly capable of handling intake. After a chaotic check‑in and a very brief exam, my teen and I were left in the procedure area with no indication that the appointment had ended. One of lead orthodontist who was examining my daughter at the time simply walked away without offering any explanation or treatment plan. Instead, someone from the front desk ( a student) attempted to relay information that should have come directly from him/her. Even in a teaching environment, patients deserve respect, communication, and quality care. Being a dental school does not remove the responsibility to maintain professionalism and accountability.

Everyone there was wonderful. They made my son and I both very comfortable, it felt more like we had a visit with close friends than a orthodontist appointment. The entire experience is always a positive one.

My daughter has had the best possible experience!!! Everyone is better than the best. The front desk is the best in all of UF, period, not Ben a close second. They truly make us feel like family.

Joslin is always super pleasant and today very helpful!! She took the time to read the notes regarding my son’s retainer issue!! Thanks so much. She saved me $175.
