Lee and Lee Orthodontics

It brings me no pleasure to post this, but I have to express my frustration with this office, and I’ll try to keep my backstory brief. Almost 20 years ago, I had Invisalign used as braces, and instead of opting for the removable Invisalign night retainer, I chose the permanent retainer adhered to my teeth. They both have their pros and cons, but the permanent retainer worked well enough for me. However, last year the metal bar at the top of my mouth started to fray. I asked my dentist if they had any recommendations for repair, and they referred me to Lee & Lee. * September 2025 - I go in; they offer to either do another permanent retainer or switch and go the Invisalign route. I stick with the current setup, and since insurance doesn’t cover it, I pay about $500 out of pocket. It feels a bit steep, but doesn’t everything these days? All good. * May 2026 - While flossing one evening, the retainer that adhered to my tooth came undone. This was surprising since I got this fixed so recently. I scheduled an appointment, popped in, and they glued the retainer to the tooth. A relatively quick process, and $150 later, hopefully I’m set for a while. * July 2026 - Less than two months later, the glue pops off the SAME tooth while flossing. Due to my schedule, I wasn’t able to make an appointment until August. When I made the appointment, I told the receptionist that I had been there very recently, and she said she would speak to the dentist about a possible reduced rate. When I arrived, I was seated promptly for my appointment but laid horizontal in the chair, waiting for the dentist, for 27 minutes. I spent the time reading, so I wasn’t too put off. The dentist came in, re-glued the retainer in the same place, and then I was on my way. The fix took less than 10 minutes. When checking out with the receptionist, I again mentioned the possible reduced rate that had been discussed, since I had been there less than 2 months prior for the same issue. She stepped aside and checked with the dentist, who told her there would be no price change because the issue is with the way my teeth bite down… No discount - another $150. Unacceptable. It’s one thing to be busy and backed up (everyone has off days, I get it). It’s another thing to refuse even a minor discount, even as a gesture of good faith for having to return so recently; quite annoying, but fine. But gaslighting me by saying the issue is from the way my teeth bite down? I had my retainer for **19** years without any issues, but I have to come back to you twice in less than a year for the same issue, and you say the problem is on me? No thanks. Everyone was quite friendly during my visits, so customer service wasn’t an issue. But I will never return because of this, and I will try my luck with someone else.

I am an adult who needed some work to straighten my teeth. I chose Dr. Lee because I received so many positive recommendations. I have been absolutely delighted by the results of my orthodontic treatment. Everything went exactly as Dr Lee explained the procedure a year ago. I also have to say a giant thank you to all the assistants and the entire office staff. They are kind, efficient and always take care of you with a smile. Dr. Lee is highly professional and has an excellent bedside manner. He always remembered something special about me. My smile is exactly as he predicted! I could not be happier with the results. Was referred to Dr. Rodney Lee by my dentist. Even though her practice is in Marin, she sends people to Dr. Lee through longstanding trust. At my first appointment, they took a 3D scan, discussed my alignment, and crafted a plan for Invisalign. After 8 months, I was ready to be done, but Dr. Lee noted one more adjustment he would recommend, but left the decision completely up to me. Zero pressure, and zero additional cost. I decided to add on another 7 weeks, and am very pleased with the results. Dr. Lee exudes knowledge, experience, patience, and kindness. The team is great and friendly. Scheduling couldn't be easier. Highly recommend!!
