My dentist is very nice. Lelani I think was her name, she is a dental assistant, she made me feel very welcome. She is professional but also she was able to talk to me like I am: a diva. Honestly I really hope you guys know how safe this made me feel, and her just being able to take off the mask and talk to me like a friend really helped! The whole staff was very professional and nice. The gentleman who cleaned my teeth, Aaron I think was great as well and the receptionists were great too! my dentist Dr Karavaan was very kind and did a great job helping me with my cavities. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is the wall art. I am a fine arts student and I’m sorry this is all local color. Please get something else ESPECIALLY the ones in the bathroom. Ps all the bad reviews are about insurance overcharges and I have not personally had an issue but I promise I won’t be scared to say something cause I am a broke college student so I will update but they have been very accommodating so far 🩷

Do not recommend. Don't call yourself a "Family Dentistry" when you won't take children. They declined working on my daughter's cavities, because she was worried about the procedure. The coward dentist wouldn't even say it to my face. Instead they had the front office assistant break the news. No backbone. So many questions. Why would you take my daughter's check up appointments in the past but when actual dentistry has to happen, THEN refer us to a pediatric dentist? Why set up the appointment, have me and my daughter make time in the middle of the day only for the dentist to decline the work? Absolutely pathetic.

I’ve been going to this dental office for about 1.5 years and I want to give an honest review based on my full experience. First, the hygienists are all excellent. They’re very thorough, professional, and make every cleaning a great experience. I can honestly say they’re the best part of this office. The front desk and admin staff are also professional and polite, and the office itself is clean, beautiful, and feels secure. That said, there are a few areas that made me decide not to continue as a patient. The insurance and billing process has been confusing and inconsistent from the start. I’ve received three different quotes for the same crown—one from Delta Dental, one from the office insurance person, and one when I came back later to schedule. Each time, the price increased or changed without clear explanation. I even brought in a quote directly from my insurance company, yet the insurance quote was still higher. Additionally, I was given for two x-rays in a single year, though my insurance covers one annually, and the second one I never got a call from Dr. Castro to go over them. I also experienced a recent surprise during my last visit because the office had changed insurance plans from HMO to PPO. They request an additional amount was due on top of what my plan covered. While they mentioned they had sent out notices, I personally never received one. Dr. Castro herself is wonderful—very kind and knowledgeable. However, the way billing and insurance are handled has made me lose confidence in the process. It sometimes feels like my insurance is being overbilled or that things are added on unnecessarily (like being told I needed gum grafting that wasn’t previously discussed). Lastly, I’ll note that while the office interior is lovely, but the physical location isn’t my favorite. It’s in an area surrounded by quite a few homeless individuals, which can feel uncomfortable. To be fair, if you’re someone who likes to maximize your insurance benefits and you don’t mind asking detailed questions about your billing, this may still be a great office for you. The hygienists and staff are wonderful, and Dr. Castro provides quality care. For me personally, though, the inconsistencies in pricing and insurance handling have made me decide not to return.

I highly recommend Sacramento Dentistry Group, everyone is always so polite and patient. Dr. Castro is the best! I've never had a bad experience. Anytime I needed to sort out my dental plan or make payment plans Rebekah is always so helpful making sure I underatand my plan and next steps. She'll go above and beyond to make sure you get the best service.

Thee worst. My tooth hurt so I went into the this office. They did an x-ray and seemed knowledgeable and nice until the bill came. $1500 later (AFTER insurance paid) i still had the same hurt tooth!! Now its even worse. I wouldn't care about the bill if the job was done correctly. But it wasn't even done. My daughter (a dental assistant) had to give them suggestions on how to fix issues THEY created with my teeth. I will never go back there again. DO NOT RECOMMEND
