Newport Dental & Orthodontics - Riverside, CA (La Sierra)

I been going to this location on LA Sierra for awhile and I don't feel comfortable anymore at this location. Drug users all around, by the 711, inside pollo loco and by the actual dental office. They do have a security guard but he can't be everywhere all at once. Next, I had my first appointment a few months back and the specialist said I needed laser treatment and right away I thought...he just wants more money. That ain't happening with me. I'm already paying for the first laser treatment with my daughter and I don't think she needed it. There's this one female who works in the back and I've noticed that she has some kind of attitude. I'll leave it at that. Shout out to Ericka, she's cool, nice, and respectful.

The staff at Newport dental on la Sierra was so informative, kind and made sure all my needs were met. They took the extra time to make sure that my dentures were right. That they fitted good and everything. Before I got my final try and I'm so happy. This is the first time in 15 years that I've gotten a set of dentures that were perfect. Thanks again, newport, dental.I appreciate you!

Went in this Monday for an emergency extraction of my molars, had an infection and they helped me out tremendously! I have no insurance so I knew it would be costly. But the staff was so helpful in helping me apply for credit care and the dentist and assistants were very helpful in the process and making sure I was doing ok the whole time. I would recommend them again and I will be going back here for more dental work as they were so very helpful and did an amazing job.

Two months and 12 days to get a refund. I wish I got the initial ladies name that caused the mistake in the first place. But she knows who she is. Back on May 11 I went to get a check up done and the appointment took around 2-3 hours in total. Afterwards it came to my attention that I was wrongly charged and went to dispute the transaction with my insurance. The refund took about 2 months to this date exactly. The incompetence by the staff as a whole was actually amazing. Starting from the beginning it turns out that they should have papers ready so I shouldn't have been wrongly charged in the first place. I remember the lady was telling me she was waiting to get in contact with the insurance so this means they didn't get through to them and just charged me and hoped I wouldn't say anything/ noticed. Secondly my insurance tried multiple times to get the information from the office for the billing total/ whatever information since I had complained and they would not comply to the point that I had to fax them information myself in order for the entire process to continue. This would be sometime in June. You would think everything would be fine by then but no. The week prior to this review I tried calling and the gentleman was not able to give me any useful information and told me I would get a call back by the refund manager within 48 hours. That did not happen. I called back the next week and was given new information. They wanted to give me less money back because they went through with a procedure that the insurance didn't allow for which is obviously the office's fault. It was very embarrassing that they'd even tell me this after everything that happened. Ivana let Thelma and Susanna know to be expecting a call. I tried calling and was told no useful information. I tried calling Ivana multiple times and the office multiple times. Every time I called the office it went to voicemail and I got put on hold. To the point where once another family member called, they immediately picked up. Turns out they were told known beforehand about a refund that needed to be processed completely and instructions on what was needed. They somehow forgot and were saying that they don't have anything to do with it, that they are just receptionists. This shows how untrained the entire staff is and that none of them have any idea what's going on. Finally, this same day I was able to get my card info taken do I could get my refund processed on July 20th. At no point should it be allowed for the staff to make it so difficult that I had to complain to my insurance to take it to the next step for a possible lien for me to get my money. Terrible office, staff and the person doing my procedure was clearly in a rush because they were behind and was rough when doing the cleaning. Everyone needs to be fired and replaced with actual trained employees. Also I think they were avoiding my calls because it came to a point where when I called twice it got sent to voicemail and the second time they immediately put me on hold without saying anything. Then once my family member called they picked up immediately. I do hope corporate gives me a call back because everyone needs to be trained again. My update was finally processed and went through on July 23rd.

DR. SHAFIE does the WORST job! Composite fillings he did on two teeth are falling apart and gone! He's always going way too fast on teeth, does sloppy job! This office also OVERCHARGED me hundreds of dollars for supposed co-pays...I got a refund check from them-- after I quit goig there!! I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND this Dentist or office!!
