Smile Health Orthotics has great staff that are very helpful and nice. Both of my children got braces and the results were amazing.
Amazing practice and amazing doctor! My son is very picky and she was able to have him cooperate and actually wear the retainer.
Dr. Solomon is a very caring, effective and knowledgeable Orthodontist. She is so kind and has made my daughter feel so safe and cared for during all her appointments. Her guidance and care when my daughter got her braces on was amazing and it continues to be this way. I highly recommend this office.!!
Our experience with Dr. Solomon and her staff have been nothing but superb. Cierra, James, Iris, Alex, and of course Dr. Solomon have bene treating my daughter for about a year now with great results. Moreover, they’ve been kind, professional, and caring during every visit. Highly recommended.
I chose Dr. Deborah Solomon based on online reviews, which is why I feel it’s my responsibility to share my experience now that my treatment is complete. In a dynamic, international city like Los Angeles—where many of us don’t have personal referrals—reviews are often the only resource we have to make informed decisions. Unfortunately, in my case, the reviews I relied on were misleading and did not reflect the reality. I came to Dr. Solomon’s office with braces already in place. My previous orthodontist in Wisconsin had done excellent work closing my open bite, but I had to relocate before the treatment was finished. At the time I began treatment with Dr. Solomon, I only needed some alignment on the left side and closure of gaps between my teeth on the left and front. She assured me these issues could be resolved in six months for $3,500. Regrettably, very little was actually accomplished. Only a partial closure of the gap between my front teeth was achieved. Despite multiple conversations and clear indications from me that the treatment was incomplete, Dr. Solomon insisted the work was done and stated I would need to pay more for additional corrections. I even had to insist on taking X-rays before brace removal to assess root positioning and space for a future implant—something I feel should have been part of the standard protocol. I ended up paying out of pocket to consult other professionals for guidance on what needed to be evaluated before braces were removed. As an adult, I could advocate for myself and recognize that the treatment was not properly completed. But I worry about younger patients who may not have the maturity or knowledge to speak up. It’s concerning when a healthcare provider prioritizes business over ethical patient care. Throughout the process, I was frequently the one pointing out issues and guiding the treatment—something that should never fall on the patient in a professional medical setting. Unfortunately, I am now seeking Invisalign treatment with a different provider to address the remaining issues that were left unresolved after my experience at Dr. Solomon’s office. She refused to pay any refund for promised but actually incomplete treatment. Moreover, most of my conversations were intermediated by the receptionist, Iris, who often led discussions and even whispered during appointments. I found this highly unprofessional and distracting. An orthodontist should rely on their clinical team and professional peers—not administrative staff—for treatment planning and patient communication. I do not recommend Dr. Solomon for those seeking ethical, patient-focused orthodontic care. If you’re like me and reviews are your main source of information, I encourage you to dig deeper before making a decision. My name is Sahar Javadi, a neuroscientist at UCLA. I’d be happy to speak with anyone seeking more details about my experience. You can find me on LinkedIn. I still believe in the value of honest reviews and hope mine helps others make better-informed choices.
