I’ve been going to Alaska smiles for about a decade now, and have recommended them to multiple friends. Time after time I have been treated with kindness from the time I enter until the time I leave. Dr. Johnson has treated me for both both cosmetic and non cosmetic issues with ease. It’s nice to have a dentist you can trust. Thank you AK smiles for all the hospitality throughout the years ❤️

I recently established dental care at Alaska Smiles after a friend recommended the office, and it was genuinely the best dental experience I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with such warmth and friendliness that I felt like a longtime patient rather than someone brand new to the practice. Dr. Johnson and his assistant, Lyuba, were both exceptional. Dr. Johnson took time to carefully explain everything, showing me photos of my teeth, walking me through the work I needed, and clearly laying out all my options. The whole experience felt collaborative and fully informed, which I deeply appreciated. What began as a routine exam and cleaning turned into several hours of unexpected dental work after they discovered a badly cracked molar. Despite the length of the procedures, I was comfortable the entire time. Lyuba was incredibly attentive and kind, making sure I had something to eat since the appointment went through lunch, keeping me comfortable throughout the procedure, and caring for every small detail. At one point she said, “Why not just be kind?” and that truly captured the spirit of the office. Dr. Johnson talked with me easily and naturally throughout the appointment, more like a friend than a doctor rushing through a procedure. I never once felt hurried. He also took as much time as needed to make sure my bite felt completely right before I left, which I especially appreciated since I’ve often had to return to other offices for adjustments. Lyuba also noticed a small cosmetic issue with my front teeth that I had never even seen before, and with just a couple minutes of work, it made a noticeable improvement in my smile. The quality of the dental work was excellent, but even more than that, I left feeling genuinely cared for. This is by far the warmest, kindest, most genuine dental office I’ve ever experienced.

Friendly staff, the job will get done well. They're good with kids too. Definitely confirm the end time of your appointments though! I've never been to an office where they plan to have you for 2 hours, first for x rays then a separate hour for the cleaning. I wish this had been communicated to me before I kept several young children in the lobby during their would-be lunch and nap times. I would have chosen a completely different appointment or office if I had understood that. Good enough dentist's office though other than that!

Had my first appointment at Alaska Smiles today. I’ve never had such a thorough exam and cleaning. Samara and Andrea were fantastic. They reviewed my history, explained everything they were doing, consistently checked in to make sure I was doing okay and came up with a plan explaining all options available. By the time I was finished, the receptionist already had quotes showing what my insurance would cover. Bonus was being able to watch Air Disasters (you can load streaming shows on a tv mounted above you) while getting my cleaning. I didn’t want to leave!

I've been going to Alaska Smiles for over 18 years and I've always been treated with professionism and courtesy. Dr. Johnson, and Dr. Nielson before him, have always been honest and genuine in caring for my teeth. 100% recommend!
