Northeast Seattle Orthodontics

I have had a very positive experience with Dr. Matthys and NE Seattle Orthodontic. She is a very competent and friendly orthodontist. Doing Invisalign with her has truly been a life changing experience for my teeth. She has improved the function, alleviated TMJ issues, and created an aesthetically beautiful smile. She communicated great with my general dentist to align my treatment plan with overall goals for teeth. Her office staff are all friendly, responsive, and pleasant to work with. Would highly recommend doing orthodontic work here.

Came here with my 12 year old son for a second opinion. The first practice we went to neglected to inform us they were in network with our dental insurance plan. I found Northeast Seattle Orthodontics/Dr. Matthys via the delta dental website. Not only were they incredible to work with (found every possible discount available to reduce costs), but Dr. Matthys has been great at educating me/my son on the process with grace and transparency. The office is cozy and inviting. When issues have come up (scheduling, running out of rubber bands, etc), the office has been incredibly accomodating, kind, and understanding. I am SO glad we found Northeast Seattle Orthodontics and Dr. Matthys. The investment in my son's teeth is worth the cost and time!

Very great experience, it was very simple and easy. Pleasant atmosphere, always on time. When I had an issue, Dr. Mathys was quick to help me out. Highly recommend!

Friendly and welcoming staff. My sons have monthly appointments and staff is always on time, very professional. The office is spacious and clean. Great experience and I highly recommend it.

Not a good fit for our family, or for any family that might struggle getting teens to wear retainers at the level of compliance required. We paid $6k for our daughter’s braces and retainers. If your teen falls behind on wearing a painful retainer for 12 hours a day, they will charge another $500 or more to refit a new pair, and to be honest they were a bit inflexible, and used some shaming and demanding attitude when we faced challenges with 100% compliance. We are now regretting the initial decision to spend this money. I don’t think we knew from the outset (and wasn’t well communicated) how much of an investment it was going to be. I would have appreciated a bit more of a collaborative and flexible policy toward teens that may need a re-fit if they are struggling with the pain and discomfort of wearing retainers. Unfortunately, paying another $500+ is not feasible for us.
