St. Clair Orthodontics

From highly recommended to highly dissatisfied Like most patients, we were referred to several orthodontist by our dentist for our children's braces. After a quick search online nothing quite stood out on our options so we settled with St. Clair orthodontist. I am writing this review as if I were to hop in a time machine, go back in time, and talk with myself. We were treated kindly at our first consultation, and they laid out the pricing plan and options. My first odd feeling was the pressure to agree to the down payments, and payment plan before seeking another opinion from another orthodontist. I mean, we do it with other businesses before spending thousands of dollars right? I thought, no, this isn't a mechanic or anything, let's just go ahead. So $500 for one kid, and $500 for another to start the experience, followed by a monthly payment plan, divided up over 20 months, $4,200 for one, and $4,200 for the other. After the initial fitting and braces were placed on, it began to feel like an office overwhelmed with patients each time we spoke with front office staff. Have a broken bracket? "No we don't have anything until a week later." Have a wire hanging off and the kids are chewing on it? "You should just use diagonal cutters, because we don't have anything for a week and a half." We have a bracket that broke and it's rubbing on our kids front tooth, I'm worried about the enamel getting scratched, I'm willing to come in first thing and wait for any openings "Sorry, we don't 'Do' walk ins." One memorable experience was calling ahead (7:30am approx) about both kids broken brackets needing to be fixed, and with STAR testing coming up, that day would be the best to avoid potential issues. After showing up at 7:50am, the standard line of we don't take walk ins was stated. So I told them we'll just wait in the lobby until there would be an opening. The assistant looked at me with a surprised look as if I actually wanted to wait, as long as it took, to fix their broken brackets and wires. Yeah, crazy dad here needing assistance. We ended up waiting until 9:32am in the lobby before being called to the back. No rush, no apologies, just typical standard service at St. Claire. The staff working on the teeth were professional and I'm guessing had no idea regarding the front office cluster. If you want to be treated like you are visiting a large auto dealership, that you have already paid thousands of dollars to only to be left begging for service amongst the masses, this is your place. My suggestion to my historical self after I step out of the time machine, Go Somewhere Else. Excellent staff, amazing doctor, supportive environment...just a few descriptives of what to expect. I am so impressed and blessed to have such an amazing staff take care of my orthodontic needs. They always return my calls and answer every question I have. I look forward to my appointments and enjoying some time with this wonderful team. Should you have any orthodontic needs and questions, I highly recommend this team as a top choice.

Our entire family sees Dr. St Clair. We love him and his entire office staff. They are so kind, caring, and compassionate. They spend plenty of time with you and you never feel like they are in a hurry. They truly treat you like family. I love my kiddos smiles. 💙 The very best in west Texas hands down!!

We are in phase 2 with my 14 year old’s braces/ Invisalign (he started phase 1 in 1st grade) and St. Clair has been great through the whole thing. The staff are always friendly and helpful. It’s easy to get appointment times you need. We are almost finished and his bite and smile look great! I would recommend them to anyone.
