Great Plains Dental

I was very pleased with my experience. As a former dental assistant of 10 years, I could tell they were top notch. They had the digital X-rays that can be developed, so they are thinner and not the huge one with the cord. They also have “the wand” which is a much more pleasant way to receive anesthetic. They had an updated laughing gas mask that wasn’t the old gray ones that smell bad, fall apart and hardly work. Since the only two offices for children are ABC (doesn’t accept insurance or not in network with any insurance) and Children’s dental (where you are not allowed to be with your child for their visit) I was looking for a dental office that would be good for children without necessarily being a pediatric office. Well this one was it! Every person I came in contact with was friendly and knowledgeable. They knew how to make the dental terms fun and easy for kids and explained everything along the way. They also did a good job of putting all the medical records I sent into the chart. The had good communication and they had cute little toys that were made from a 3D printer. Big hit! I am so happy to have found this office and have a place to bring my kids to and a place that I can go to as well as my husband. Thank you Great Plains Dental!

I can’t say enough great things about this dental and orthodontic office! From the moment you walk in, the entire team is professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. They take the time to explain everything, answer questions, and make sure you’re completely comfortable. The hygienists are gentle and thorough. They are absolutely wonderful with kids—patient, friendly, and great at making them feel relaxed and even excited about their visits. You never feel rushed or like “just another appointment.” The office is clean, organized, and runs on time, which I really appreciate. If you’re looking for a dental and orthodontic office with amazing staff who treat you like family and are fantastic with children, this is the place. Highly recommend!

Great Plains Dental was the best choice to update my veneers. Dr Nelsen, Bailey, and the rest of the team were fantastic from start to finish. They were open about the process, took extra time to explain things and made sure I was happy with the final outcome. They clearly love what they do and have fun doing it.

If you’re looking for the best dental practice in Sioux Falls area, look no further! I have been seeing Dr. McKinney and his team for 23 years. I started going to this office as a child and Great Plains Dental has assisted with regular cleanings, tooth extractions, and orthodontics throughout the years. Bridget and the office staff always greet patients with a smile and assist with any insurance questions. Amy and the other dental hygienists are also amazing and super friendly! The exam rooms are very spacious, always clean, and have lots of natural light. Each room is also equipped with a television to keep patients entertained during their appointment. I have always had positive experiences with Great Plains Dental and Dr. McKinney and his amazing staff are the reason I love going to the dentist!
