This place is miserable. Every appointment has been a dread. Each visit my daughter & I were lectured and chastised for a min of 15 mins. Whether a simple bracket or wire. It was and is an issue. Prepare to felt looked down upon if you’re a Medicare patient.

This man has made a lot of money over the decades from amputating perfectly healthy teeth from children and setting them up for negative lifelong health effects and a less-attractive face. And he continues to do it today, despite extractions being seen as incredibly outdated. I had braces as a child by Dr. Hanachi in the late 90s. Because I had an overbite and mild crowding, he opted to extract my four first premolars and used retractive headgear to keep my upper jaw from growing forward. Now, as an adult, both my upper and lower jaws are recessed, I have sleep apnea, a narrow airway, TMJ pain, and I have swallowing and speech difficulties because my mouth is not big enough for my normal-sized tongue, which has been confirmed by several providers and diagnostic tests. My dentist even mentioned they have to use a child-sized bitewing for my dental X-rays because my mouth is the size of a child's, not an adult's. What Dr. Hanachi should have done, and was known as being the best method in the late 90s, was palate expansion to make my mouth big enough to accommodate and move my teeth to be straight and to guide my jaws to develop properly. He either wasn't trained in how to do this or chose extractions because the treatment time is faster than with palate expansion. I was hopeful that he had changed his methods in 2025, but on his website he STILL advocates for extractions!! Please send your child to an orthodontist who does palate expansion so they can avoid the well-documented negative effects of extractions. Please research the effects of premolar extractions before agreeing to them. Under no circumstances should you let this man or any orthodontist extract healthy permanent teeth from a child. Teeth are bone, and you need bone to support your face and help your jaws develop and function correctly. Extracting teeth from a child causes them to have weak jaws. You will be signing your child up for a less attractive face, breathing problems, TMJ pain, and difficulties with speaking, chewing, and swallowing. You will make it likely that they will probably need a more expensive and invasive surgery when they're adults to address all the problems caused by extractions. If you're an adult, please go to an orthodontist who offers MARPE/MSE to expand the palate and/or does surgical orthodontics, as you may need surgery to address the underlying skeletal issue causing your teeth misalignment. Think about it - When older adults lose teeth, dentists recommend an implant in place of the missing tooth to prevent jawbone loss. So what would happen if you extracted teeth for braces, either as an adult or child? You would have jawbone loss. If you're a child or adult, it is always better to fix the underlying skeletal problem causing you to have bite issues than to use camouflage to conceal the problem. And especially not extractions. Avoid them at all costs.

Staff are very friendly and courteous. They explained everything in detail before we began the process, and then at the beginning of each visit. My daughter has major anxiety with dentists, but has had no issues at all at Dr. Hanachi's office. Highly recommend!
