Great Expressions Dental Centers - Bayonne

I had gotten braces here a couple of years ago, and the entire experience wasn't the greatest. Having them on wasn't the issue, but initially getting them and having them taken off was an issue. When it came time for them to be taken off, I left with my gums all cut up and bleeding for a week and a half afterward. Brushing my teeth looked like a bloodbath for days, and it was very painful. The process of receiving my plastic retainers wasn't great either. At the time, there was a worker who I believe was gaining experience with an internship, and she was tasked to do my mold for my teeth. She kept messing up and had to restart, and didn't seem so confident on the final try. After actually receiving the retainers and trying them on, I noticed there was a decent gap between the retainer and my teeth. The dentist at the time reassured me and said it would be fine, but now my teeth have slightly shifted back because the retainers don't fit. I don't believe they ever truly fully fit my teeth, and they should've been redone. I can only speak on my experience regarding braces at this location. Perhaps they may exceed in other departments, but as far as braces go, I would not fully reccomend unfortunately.

I am not comfortable at dental offices, but this office is excellent! From the front desk with their kindness and effectiveness to the dental assistants and dentists with their professionalism, I am glad to have found them! I have had extractions and can gladly say that there is nothing negative to say about their services. Thank you very much.

Coming for many years with my children, this was going to be the first time I have come for myself after not going to a dentist for many years. Stephanie and Mabel were very welcoming and helpful in the process. Sam, the hygienist, made me feel really at ease as I was extremely apprehensive and was very thorough, answering any questions I had and was gentle with the X-Rays. Thanks so much for a great experience.

am very disappointed with my experience at this dental office. I had dental work done that was not completed properly, and the final result was unacceptable. The teeth that were placed have a very noticeable gap, and the overall appearance looks unnatural and poorly fitted. It is clearly visible when I speak or smile, which has been both embarrassing and upsetting. In addition to the unsatisfactory results, I was told I would receive a refund due to the extra charges with the work. Instead, I was surprised to receive a bill, and my insurance was charged a significant amount for services that did not meet an acceptable standard. I trusted this office to provide professional care and quality results, but unfortunately that was not my experience. I hope they take responsibility for correcting this situation and improve their standards of care moving forward.

Extremely terrible experience!!! Service was 0! During the X-ray, the staff shoved the equipment into my mouth very forcefully, causing extreme discomfort throughout my entire mouth. The teeth cleaning was an absolute nightmare. It was extremely painful — I was literally in tears during the whole process. If this had been my first dental cleaning as a child, I honestly think I would have been traumatized and afraid of dental visits for the rest of my life. After the cleaning, I was asked to wait over one hour just to see the dentist, simply because he was busy treating other patients. The assistant kept saying “thank you for your patience,” but what about my time? Don’t I matter as a patient too? In total, I spent nearly three hours in the office just for a routine cleaning. Completely unbelievable. This was one of the worst dental experiences I’ve ever had. I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone. Trash! Look at their response on Google review feels completely insincere and not genuine at all. It is obviously a copy-and-paste apology — the only thing they changed was the reviewer’s name. Then they ask patients to contact them by email, but honestly, what would that accomplish? What can they actually do after being contacted? Would it change how roughly the X-rays are taken? Would it prevent painful and careless cleanings? Would it stop patients from waiting over an hour after their appointment? Instead of sending fake apologies, it would be far more meaningful for their management to truly reflect on the issues and think about how to better train, supervise, and manage their team.
