Lafayette Modern Dentistry and Orthodontics

I go to modern dentistry in Baton Rouge which is AMAZING but I’ve moved back home to Lafayette so I thought this place would be the same, DEFINITELY NOT, here goes. I get there at 7AM I’m actually the 2nd person there! Why is it I don’t leave until 12:15PM? Sitting in that chair ALL OF THOSE HOURS! That’s not the worst part! After many X-rays I informed the dentist of an abscess I think I have on my back tooth, a side tooth that food keeps getting into and the tooth before the canine tooth that feels “rough” against my tongue. Long story short, I had to remind the dentist about the back tooth, he looked at one of the many X-RAYS and told me he would discuss with the root canal specialist! The tooth he “filed down” to smooth it out, he took HALF OF THE TOOTH OFF! When I looked in the mirror and saw this, he was actually going to send me out like that!! When I told him ABSOLUTELY NOT! He says, well, that tooth was very thin, and it’s one you have down in your records to put a criwn on! As if it was ok for me to leave like that! Ok, he says ok, I’ll fix it…I’m sure he’s not happy with me but he proceeds to fix it and CUT MY BOTTOM LIP! No, I’m so sorry, no, are you ok, NOTHING! Neither he nor the assistant who was in the room during all of this! I sit there and let him fix the issue HE caused, in pain and so upset. When he finally finished, I look in the mirror and say fine. Still no apologies from the dentist for shaving off half of my tooth, crooked by the way OR cutting my lip! Then the dental assistant had the audacity to tell me she needed ONE MORE X-RAY!! NO MA’AM! I told her no and went straight to the office manager and told her everything. She was nice, but I noticed she did not write one thing down that I told her. She did see where my lip was cut. NEVER going back to this place again!! Baton Rouge Modern Dentistry I’M COMING BACK!! Half of my tooth gone, cut lip, hours in the dentist chair…NO THANK YOU! You should also do a little more detailed cleaning on the dental equipment and a new dental chair.

Long review but worth the read guys ‼️I have never been to a dental office this advanced and detailed in my life! I found this office on Google, called on Thursday, and was able to get an appointment the very next day. 🙌🏼 Dr. Stegall is incredibly personable, welcoming, and takes the time to make you feel comfortable. The entire staff was friendly and professional from the moment I walked in. The ladies at the front desk got me checked in quickly and were very organized.🦷🪥 My hygienist assistant, Alexis, is very young, so I was a little nervous at first. However, she completely exceeded my expectations. She is so sweet, knowledgeable, and professional. She explained every step before we did it and answered every question I had. During my appointment, another employee came into the room and made an odd comment, saying something like, “Oh, what’s she doing lying? That’s all she does is lie.” It could have made the situation uncomfortable, but Alexis handled it with complete professionalism. She simply laughed it off, stayed focused on my care, and continued explaining everything. She is going to go very far in this field. 👩🏽‍⚕️ Now for the exciting part! They performed a test to see how quickly my body breaks down collagen and also took an oral swab to test my dental health. My hygienist thoroughly explained my deep cleaning treatment plan. I’ve been to two other dental offices before, and neither one offered laser treatment or an oral bacteria test to identify exactly what bacteria are present before deciding on treatment. 🥼👩‍🔬 What really stood out to me was learning that not all bacteria can be treated with a cleaning alone—some require antibiotics. That made perfect sense. Without testing, I could have gone through an extensive deep cleaning only for the problem to return because the underlying bacteria wasn’t properly treated. While that’s just a hypothetical scenario, I’m sure it happens more often than people realize. I love how they have the monitor in front of you so that you can see everything live while explaining everything to you. The office itself is spotless, has plenty of parking 🅿️, is wheelchair accessible, and I absolutely loved that it wasn’t filled with harsh, bright lights. As someone who gets overstimulated easily, that made a huge difference in how comfortable I felt. If you’re looking for a dental office that truly stays up to date with technology, takes the time to educate patients, and genuinely cares about providing quality care, this is the place. Just get here—you won’t regret it. I’d put my bottom dollar on it!

I had been putting off getting a gum graft for a long time because I was so scared of the procedure and the pain afterward. From the moment I walked into Lafayette Modern Dentistry, everyone made me feel comfortable and at ease. Sunshine was amazing! She was so kind, reassuring, and helped calm my nerves throughout the entire experience. Brandy at the front desk welcomed me with such a warm smile and made me feel like I had been coming there for years. Dr. Ernest Erian was exceptional. He took the time to explain everything and made the procedure go so smoothly. I honestly couldn’t believe how easy it was. Even more surprising, I haven’t had any pain since the surgery! If you’ve been putting off a gum graft because you’re nervous like I was, I highly recommend Dr. Ernest Erian and the entire team at Lafayette Modern Dentistry. They turned an experience I had been dreading into a truly positive one. Thank you all for taking such great care of me!

I came in for my wisdom teeth surgery and was pleasantly surprised to have such a smooth experience. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to help me with all my questions and concerns. They really helped me understand my procedure and recovery. The person who did my surgery, Dr. Rachael Mcgehee, was incredibly warm and kind. Hands down the best IV placement I’ve ever had! I recommend her and this business to anyone who needs any work done, whether that be a simple cleaning or a dental surgery.

Had to come in for an emergency dental appointment due to intermittent tooth pain that was worrying me. I was very pleased with my experience! Dr. Haisley & his assistant, Sanija, were both very kind & helpful as well as thorough. They both are new to this facility but they are great! Saniya was especially sweet & I enjoyed meting her. My husband, children, & I have been coming to this place for a while, & we’ve yet to have a bad experience. The front staff is also very nice & professional.
