I highly recommend it! I went based on my chiropractor’s recommendation, but honestly, I wasn’t very hopeful. It has been a process, but it worked. I specifically remember that before I started, I couldn’t eat corn on the cob because of the pain. I had to cut the corn off the cob to eat it. After I was weaned off my daytime mouthguard, I ate corn on the cob without even thinking about it. It wasn’t until I finished that I realized I had eaten it with no pain! It was definitely worth it.

I am a returning patient; my last visit was over 20 years ago with Dr Baba, and today with Dr. McLaren. Both appointments were top notch! I now live in Florida, and was able to come in while visiting family to get more information about my current orthodontic treatment and my TMJ issues that I put on pause. From suffering from severe migraines to being pain free, I would recommend Dr. McLaren 100%. I’ve suffered from migraines that were diagnosed when I was in the 2nd grade and never got any relief. I never thought I could get relief and can confidently say, I am living live again! Pain free and I never thought that was able to be my reality! Don’t wait to feel better. I want to share my experience to help others who are new to sleep apnea treatment make a more informed decision. I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea and initially pursued treatment through this office. At the time, I had limited knowledge of treatment options and relied heavily on professional guidance. I was recommended an oral appliance, which cost approximately $4,000. My initial sleep study showed significant sleep apnea (RDI ~31.5, severe range) with oxygen levels dropping to around 83%. After receiving the appliance, I completed a follow-up sleep study while using it. That study showed my apnea was still in the moderate range (RDI ~18.6), with oxygen dropping as low as ~80%. While there was some improvement, the condition was not adequately treated. I later transitioned to CPAP therapy on my own. The total cost for my CPAP machine and equipment was about $700. With CPAP, my AHI is now consistently around 1–2, and my daytime sleepiness—my main symptom—has essentially resolved. Looking back, I wish I had been more clearly informed that CPAP is widely considered first-line treatment for moderate to severe sleep apnea and is often both more effective and less expensive than an oral appliance. Had I understood that upfront, I would have chosen CPAP as my initial treatment. The oral appliance did provide partial improvement, but it did not resolve my condition, and I ultimately needed CPAP to achieve effective treatment. I’m sharing this so others can make a fully informed decision and understand the differences in effectiveness and cost between treatment options.
