Mergen Orthodontics

Just had my final visit today after 18 months! Mergen and staff have always been friendly and professional, and I haven't had a bad experience in my time with them. The facility in Iowa City is always so clean. You can trust that they are thorough in their work and that they actually care about the service they provide.

Out of all of the business I've visited throughout my life, Mergen Orthodontics has been the best experience yet. Dr. Mergen is wonderful! He's kind, understanding, great with children, and a fantastic orthodontist. The staff is also phenomenal. They are all very welcoming, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Oh, and they're incredibly efficient. We've never waited more than a minute or two. Having Invisalign as a young child is a big responsibility. Our daughter did pretty well. However, whenever an issue did arise, everyone was immediately there to help. They all made this a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend them to everyone!!

My twin daughters established care with Dr. Mergen at age 9. Their permanent teeth were coming in and were very crowded. I honestly wasn't sure what kind of results he would be able to get because their mouths were so small, but I trusted his process and the outcome was amazing! Our dentist had been concerned that one of the girls was missing a permanent tooth, but Dr. Mergen made space for all the teeth to come it properly. I can't recommend Mergen Orthodontics highly enough.

Dr Mergen had been very professional and offers great times and multiple convenient locations for my 2 sons monthly Invisalign appointments. It’s a very smooth in/out and on with our day and I appreciate that. Not the cheapest but I feel like you definitely receive a premium product/experience for the price difference. The staff is always courteous and very respectful of my time.

We cannot say enough positive things about Mergen Orthodontics! Both of my children (ages 12 and 9) see Dr Mergen for Invisalign and while I was hesitant at first, envisioning so many lost trays, I am so happy we went with Invisalign AND Dr. Mergen. My kids lose everything but their Invisalign trays have never been a problem. It has definitely taught them responsibility and they have done so well. More than that, we are all so pleased with the results! Their teeth look so great and much less time than traditional braces. Dr. Mergen has taken time to show me their progress and is always so patient and kind with the kids. Everyone in his office is welcoming, kind, and helpful. Additionally they never had sore cheeks from brackets or sore jaws from tightening. The Invisalign process was a breeze and the results have been top notch! Huge bonus: our kids are already trained to wear retainers so their teeth should STAY straight when treatment is over.
