Terrible practice that just wants to rip you off. Charged 466 for deep cleaning of one quarter of my mouth which was completely rejected by insurance. After I sent email asking them to consider lowering the exorbitant price after insurance rejection it was ignored but they kept sending reminders to pay their invoice nevertheless. Afterwards I went to a much better practice just blocks away and was charged 200 for same procedure with majority of it paid by insurance and the procedure took half the time of sunset dentistry. Initially I attributed their pricing and claim rejection to California high costs and insurances annoyances but now after I went to a proper dentist I can see Sunset Dentistry just wants to rip you off which was the vibe I got from first visit as well. My first negative review of any kind anywhere but these guys deserve it.

I had a very disappointing experience with Sunset Dentistry, starting from my very first appointment. I booked a deep cleaning and oral appliance consultation. They scheduled me last minute and only sent the treatment estimate and consent forms late the night before my appointment. I showed up without any prior understanding of the cost and was shocked by the pricing when I arrived. Because of this, I chose not to proceed - but they still attempted to charge me a $150 cancellation fee, even though I wasn’t given proper notice about the charges in advance. That’s incredibly unfair and unprofessional. To make matters worse, I paid for the appointment in full upfront, and later found out that my primary insurance covered a large portion of it. They said they would submit the remainder to my secondary insurance (MetLife), but I haven’t seen any sign that they did - and they’ve been ignoring my follow-up inquiries about the refund I’m owed. Their communication and billing transparency have been awful, and I absolutely cannot recommend this office.

This practice is superb! And when I needed oral surgery, they provided a referral to another excellent practice. Sunset Dentistry aligned everything, including creating my new implant form, to occur on the same day. Their office staff is wonderful and I'm happy to see Olga 3x annually for a cleaning. It's a very smart wellness investment in my health.

I've been looking for an office to invest my money in so I can get some dental work done. It has been a journey. What I can say about this office right now is there onboarding is phenomenal. I had the pleasure of speaking with Ivan. He listened to my story. He made me feel very comfortable. I don't think businesses understand that their front line is their main source, their first impression. Ivan you're great, keep doing what you're doing, I look forward to meeting you and the team you work with.

They were kind of enough to give me a student discount since I didn’t have dental insurance at the time. I was very touched by the gesture.
