I came here because of the attractive price but had an upsetting experience. The doctor appeared to have forgotten most of what we talked about during our consultation. The retainer that was printed didn’t fit. Half of the appointment was spent being gaslit by the doctor about how they purposely printed it this way, when clearly they or the printing lab made an error. None of the reasons he gave made sense, and many were contradictory. The other half was spent having a half cut up retainer in my mouth with plastic particles flying everywhere, including into my mouth. I had to explicitly ask to rinse the retainer after it being cut since yes the retainer is in fact made up of harmful plastics that aren’t intended to be released into your mouth as dust. During this phase I was also told repeatedly that the retainer should fit, when it didn’t. At the end the doctor concluded we should just give up on moving the tooth using the retainer and instead glue it on the permanent retainer when the entire point of getting the removable retainer was to move the tooth! I lost $350 which they can keep since I don’t want any interactions with these folks again. Yes they did offer to reprint the retainer, however due to the incompetence that was demonstrated I cannot trust visiting here. The doctor should’ve quickly admitted he printed the retainer wrong versus trying to iterate through countless contradicting excuses. It’s a cliche but you get what you pay for.

Dr. Camilo Riaño is fantastic - he has a steady hand, is great at explaining everything clearly, and makes you feel comfortable throughout your visit. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for top-notch orthodontic care!

I visited several different clinics in San Francisco and the Peninsula before choosing Dr. Riano. My friend had her treatment with him too. Now in my second year (almost done!), I have nothing but positive feelings about the entire process. I'll follow up once everything is complete, but if you're looking for a reliable and experienced orthodontist, give Dr. Riano a try!
