I was apprehensive to having my teeth straightened for a long time, thinking it would be an arduous process. Well I wasn’t wrong. What I did not expect was how the team at Dr. Riaño’s office made everything else so encouraging! From the first time I stepped into the office till the end of the whole journey, Dr. Riaño and the team have been not just professional but friendly, considerate, and made me look forward to visiting the clinic. They came up with a clear game plan for how to get my teeth from where they started (including a cross bite that looked like two tectonic plates shifted) to where they could be, and guided me throughout the way. With regular checkups and adjustments, I felt taken care of. At the end of it all, I was thoroughly surprised at how straight my teeth had become! The office environment was also welcoming with its clean aesthetic and light filled rooms. The views from the operating chairs were relaxing with floor to ceiling windows. One particular shoutout is to their office manager Susana! She’s helped me plan all my visits, kept me informed with changes, and most importantly made each visit like hanging out with a friend. She brightens up the room and is possibly the best in the business! For anyone in the Bay Area thinking about fixing their smile, there’s nowhere else I’d recommend than Dr. Riaño Orthodontics.

Best orthodontist in the city. Very relaxed welcoming place. Don’t go anywhere else. You will regret it. Prime location right off most muni lines downtown. Beautiful office and view of busy city on VanNess. Teenagers can muni themselves there easily after school. Trust my boys here 100% and I don’t say that about most places. Hard to find good dental care in the city.

My experience with this orthodontist has been extremely disappointing. Throughout my treatment with traditional metal braces, I frequently felt that Dr. Riano lacked the necessary experience and confidence in managing my case. On multiple occasions, Dr. Riano appeared to forget previous discussions about my treatment plan and even asked me what I thought should be done next with my teeth. As the patient, I found it concerning to be put in a position where I was expected to provide input on clinical decisions that should be guided by professional expertise. Unfortunately, the outcome of my treatment are leaving my teeth in significantly worse condition than expected. Based on my experience, I do not believe he has sufficient expertise with metal braces, and I was left with a result that has been both frustrating and disappointing. I still have a few months remaining in my treatment, but I have serious concerns about the quality of care I’ve received. At this point, I have lost confidence in my Dr.Riano treatment plan and am concerned about the condition of my teeth and the care I’ve received. Because of these concerns, I am considering consulting an attorney. Since the beginning of my treatment, I have carefully documented my progress by taking monthly photographs of my teeth at home (since Dr. Riano failed to do so).

Dr Camilo did an excellent job with my Invisalign. Everything went as expected, and 8 years later I still get complimented on my smile. Their office also worked seamlessly with my FSA benefit for payment.

I am writing this review on behalf of my niece, who was a patient of Dr. Riano's. My family were not completely satisfied with my niece's smile makeover. Both my sister, brother-in-law, and I thought that my niece's upper right tooth and her two front teeth were not straight. Dr. Riano said that he could not do anything more about it. This office also has a high turnover rate for dental assistants. Each time we come to the office there is likely a new assistant for my niece. Street parking is often challenging, and office visits were rarely on time.
