I had an excellent experience at Lotzof Orthodontics. Dr. Lotzof and his team are professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about their patients. From the initial consultation through every appointment, they took the time to explain the treatment process and answer all of my questions. The office is clean, welcoming, and well-organized, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. What impressed me most was the attention to detail and the personalized care I received throughout my treatment. The results exceeded my expectations, and I couldn't be happier with my smile. We have entrusted Dr. Lotzoff with the care of our two daughters. One had an under developed pallet and the other an underbite. Dr. Lotzoff corrected both while showing care and compassion for the young children they were at the time. Our family had been patients at Lotzof Orthodontics for approximately a year and a half. During that time, Dr. Lotzof removed a few of my son's baby teeth and placed a space maintainer, and we were satisfied with his care. Unfortunately, our experience changed dramatically when it came time to begin the next phase of treatment. After a routine follow-up, we were told it was time to move forward with Phase II orthodontics. The office encouraged us to pay the full amount upfront in exchange for a small discount. Because we had already established a relationship with the practice, we trusted their recommendation and prepaid over $3,100. Our insurance was also billed before we had ever been presented with or agreed to a treatment plan. X-rays were taken in December 2025, but it wasn't until about two months later that we finally met with Dr. Lotzof to discuss his recommendations. We were shocked to learn that his proposed treatment involved extracting one of my son's healthy permanent teeth, even though he still had many baby teeth remaining. Recognizing how significant this recommendation was, Dr. Lotzof suggested we obtain a CBCT scan to see whether all of my son's permanent teeth could be preserved. He also told us he would be happy to meet with us again to discuss the case at no charge. Before making an irreversible decision, we sought opinions from four other orthodontists. Not one recommended removing a healthy permanent tooth. After completing the CBCT scan Dr. Lotzof requested, we returned to discuss the results, but his recommendation remained the same. Ultimately, we chose to transfer our son's care to another orthodontist. When we requested a refund for the treatment that had never been started, the office refunded most of our payment but retained a $195 consultation fee. This was particularly frustrating because we had never been informed that there would be a separate charge for treatment planning or follow-up consultations. In fact, after we raised this concern, the office acknowledged in writing that the fee "was not discussed more clearly in advance." We had also been told that Dr. Lotzof would meet with us again free of charge to discuss our son's case. I understand that orthodontists can have different treatment philosophies, and I don't fault Dr. Lotzof simply because his recommendation differed from others. What concerns me is the overall process: asking patients to prepay thousands of dollars before presenting a treatment plan, billing insurance before that discussion occurred, recommending the extraction of a healthy permanent tooth when four other orthodontists independently disagreed, and then withholding money for a consultation fee that had never been clearly disclosed. Parents place an enormous amount of trust in orthodontists when making life-changing decisions for their children. Based on our experience, I would encourage families to obtain multiple opinions before agreeing to any irreversible treatment or making significant upfront financial commitments.

I chose Dr. Lotzof's office as my choice to correct my smile. The level of care I experienced and the staff that helped in the process helped alleviate prior fears I had when getting braces as a teenager. I was given choices on what type of braces to use and the pros/cons to each to help correct my smile. Cost was practical and there were different options to chose to pay the balance so you can pick what makes sense financially for you. I'm very satisfied with my results and would recommend their office for your orthodontic needs.
